I was wondering if any one can check this with their viper? Hold the brake on and hit the throttle and tell me how much the motor jumps on the clutch side. Also what is the best torque limiter to buy. Why I checked this is because i keep putting weight in my clutch and it still pulls the same rpm and seems like its getting worse. Last year I was alittle lower rpm than needed and the only thing I changed was primary spring (same color) with shims in it and it jumped up atleast 400 rpm's from where it was. Is that normal? THANX GUYS.

just grab the primary clutch and pull up on it , you will know if you have a broken bolt or not ..

i once had the two bolts on the clutch side on the front motor mount come loose. i was wondering why i was being beat by 600's. I found them in the belly pan and theaded them back in. never came out since maybe this is your problem.

I had the same problem two weeks ago, left front motor mount bolts. One broke one fell out. you need a motor torque stop ,that will stop it from happening again. It helped on my 02 viper. vipers, all that power somthing has to give.

the rear pto side motor mount is a very common failure on the vipers, so check this as well. Torque stops, like from SLP, maxx perf, bender, etc put a lot less stress on those mounts, and keep your clutches aligned so the power transfer is more efficient

same with me front left mount once the bolts sheered off the first time, i had nothing but problems with it even with the torque link i put in, i have no idea how to fix it i finally welded it to the case and cracked the case $$$$$, its the one weak link on the whole sled if you ask me

sounds like you had an alignment issue or another broken mount if it was sheering the bolts over and over. The rear mount is probably broken and putting too much stress on the front mount.

Thanx for the help. So I guess I'll order the sled pro alignment one from maxximum performance they seemed to be very helpful last time I talked to them. How was the install on product. It seems like it will be a fast install with just the secondary removed. I will check those mounts out tomorrow and see if thats the culprit. So my guess would be you guys feel like thats my problem too? Well not including my mental problem that is.

That sled pro thats not a torque stop is it?or is it just for lining everything up?

To Install A Torque Stop You Will Be Removing The Primary Clutch ...

Thanx, I just went on maxx's site and saw what I needed. If I remember well when I put the primary back on torque to 85# back it off and retoque to 45# correct me if I'm wrong.

i had the same problem a month ago, left front motor mounts, 1 broke and 1 fell out. i pulled the motor and replaced all the motor mount bolts and installed the sxviper torque limiter kit. everything is good now

When I install this torque limiter do I keep the factory alignment? Will they send me instructions how this thing should be aligned? My sleds not in garage now to check everything but I'm doing this torque deal. thanx!

ive had everything aligned over and over and the only mount thats broke is the front left, but i like the jump approaches and stuff like that and everything really flexes

you set it to the factory alignment with the torque stop, and set the torque stop to push against the motor a little to keep the clutches in line and at the right center to center under hard acceleration

How hard is it to get to the rear mount to check it? I have a virbration coming through my running boards and it seems new.. I am wondering if one of my mounts went...

if you take your airbox and carbs off you can get right at it

do you have a torque arm installed on the sled?
i am asking because i have a vibration. it started around 3000 miles and I cant seem to find it. seems to have started shortly after i installed the torque arm.
before anyone asks yes my clutches are perfectly aligned, i bought an alignment tool to do it and have checked it twice.
please let me know what you find.

I checked my mounts everything seems ok. What the hell is going on with this thing? I see rpm's last year under my target and this year see it totally the other way. Like I said before, is it normal to change a spring to a brand new spring same color and see this jump 400 rpms? Lost some top end around 5 mph and over reving like a son of a gone. This torque stop is only a couple of bucks. But will it help? I thought for sure it was my mounts but maybe my mounts are getting loose or stretching under load. i believe the stop will help and drop rpms because of the fact the motor is stationary and forcing the motor to more load.

a new spring will DEFINATELY do that to your rpms. Primary springs sag and lose their rate over time, so a new one will raise the revs up again.
