Pipes don't blow motors: poor pipe set-ups ie:CARBURATION! exactly what yamaholic said.

True but if you don't know what you are doing it could cost you alot for one little mistake actully even if you do but forget one minor thing it can also be catastrophic.

This winter was the shortest one i have ever experienced. We couldn´t take our sleds out until somewere in Januari. And the snow was gone around easter. But when we finally got some snow, it was pretty much.

Exactly. If you feel that you don´t know what you are doing, i would definitely not go with the pipes.

Agreed on that, pipes, especially on vipers, need the tuning time in order to get dialed in without being dangerously on the edge in certain conditions.

January huh thats not too long at all we were lucky this year and took at trip easter weekend because we had thuraday off for staff development day and we had good friday off too. we were treated to so0me of the best snow conditions we wever rode in we found some logging roads and they havent even been touched all year so it was def. some powder and we got the rx-1 stuck and the viper stuck the only one we did not get stuck was the five hundred phazer the lightest one of all. and the snow was the kind of snow that when you step you sink about 3 feet annd you weren't even touching bottom yet!!!! it took a good half an hour to get them all out it wasn't so fun at the time but now that i can look back on it it is a lot funnier

SpiderViper,
Only you can make the decision on which (pipes or expertX) is best for you! What do you want, more speed/power or better suspension & hook up? Which are you willing to give up a little on? Gas MPR or slot car feel in the corners?
I have both Pipes and expertX.
Love both, but it depends on what you want more. More Power and speed=>pipes; Better suspension and better hook-up=> expertX
Pipes will cost you MPG, expertX will sacrafice the slot car like on rails feel in the corners when on the gas.
Let us know what you decide on.

I do alot more trail riding but it would be nice to know that when i get out on the lake i could burn my brither or dad but i don't think that it is worth all the extra money on gas for that extra speed once in a while but i am starting to do alot more backcounty riding and the extra power would be nice there. Than again if the track hooks better i might be able to crawl out with the extra bite. I have the ripsaw track on it now wich gives it a lot more bite anyway so i haven't decide yet but i am leaning tward the expert x because we do some 250 mile days and some times i am sore after it wich shouldn't happen because i am only fifteen. I have the original 02 seat on it so that might factor in to harder ride.

I remember Brian was beating you and mine was undergoing technicl difficulties so i should be able to beat you both next year and especially so if i get tripples or even the expert beause these guys said that it gives better hook up so you will be left in the dust Sorry you'll have to get an apex and then try again. Maybe if your lucky you will be able to keep up.

there is no way that a stock viper with an expert x that your putting in it will beat an 03 Rx-1.
