Roller Secondary

well my whole riding group was sitting back about 50 feet behind me. Everyone slowed down and was looking at me, but kept on going, lol. Probably didn't want to help carry a corpse out of the bush, lol ;):D When an arctic cat is running good you better ride it while you have the chance! Never know when it might break down again, so no time for stops.

yamaholic, i went from a straight 43 to 46/36 thinking that the shallower finish would be great. i am also running heel clikcers, well anyways i was getting beat by sleds i could run with last year with no other changes on sled rpms are right on pulls hard low and mid but unless running on real hard pack it just doent have the topend.

36 is definately pretty shallow, but i still think you could make that work. What secondary spring were you running, and with how much twist? It has to be from the clutches not shifting out all the way or the belt slipping. This could be mostly overcome by running more weight in the tips, but you need to make sure the belt isn't slipping in the secondary.

i am running poo silver/blue @ 110, hc are, 3.3 shoulder, 4.3 tip. spec what do you mean its the hc's

there is so much weight in the heel on the heel clickers (with the big shoulder hanging off) that it makes it hard to pull much in the tip for a lot of top end. Not the best weight for top end. Decent profile for it, but way too much in the heel, hard to get a lot in the tip. A gain in one place is a loss in another.

Run hc,s with a shallow finish angle on the helix & load the tip. You get great acceleration & top end as good as stock. Lotsa guys lose top end by running not enuff secondary tension & they slip the belt at high speeds.

Turk, is the poo spring a bad choice? i notice the poo springs are all about total force and not about twist, i also loaded up the shoulder because i like to play in the powder will moving all the weight to the tip hurt this?

Loading the tip will hurt backshift. What works well in deep snow won,t cut it for top speed & racing. The reason I like the roller rooster is that you can tighten the crap out of the secondary & it still shifts out & gets you good top end. I found a good combo with hc,s...I load the heel & 1st hole about the same & lighten the tip, run a shallow finish angle on the helix with about medium tension on the secondary. It takes longer to dial in but it seems to do everything reasonably well.

This may sound silly but what kind of spring do you use with the RR 3? Stock?

I usually use the silver in allmost any sled with the rr. Tried em all but silver works best for me!

I have Bender's Roller.
The difference was night and day. The backshift is so quick . Comming out of the turn, pulls your arms out
I love it ;)!

which spring do you recommend? I want it to be able to do a nice catwalk, have crazy acceleration but keep the top end. I prolly weigh 230?

with benders roller the green spring is usually fine, maybe silver if the green wont hold it

I used the green until I tried a silver & actually gained some mph on top end.(piped ported 700 sx-r). Belt was slipping with the green & I did not realize until I tried a silver at 60

i'm going to have to pick up a new silver, the ones i have i dont think perform right, they feel just like green's.

are you guys talking bender silver? would that work better than the poo spring i am running now?
