did the mechanic check the secondary before reshiming.
The bushing may be binding causing the clutch not to close all the way.
You need to go over the secondary clutch to see whats going on.

he said that it was normal to have a space down in between the 2 sheeves.
So i dont know what to tell you.

i would suggest taking the clutch off and sending it along with the belt to a member on here to look at. there are a few in your area.

that is a good suggestion as N20 said. I would say the clutch is not closing properly. To do a quick test you can take the helix off and turn the clutch to see if the bushing moves freely. To do this you remove the belt, there are three bolts that hold the helix (or cam) on the secondary. Turn each bolt a few turns at a time not to put any strain on the cam. Romove the helix and spring and try and move the clutch to see if it opens and closes freely and properly. You will have to know where to install the spring after this (the wrap)
