stock hp

yes 500 was arounfd 86-87hponly a couple less than the 600 twin which was 93-94hp

yes 700 is 111-113hp depending on how close the tolerances are from the factory.

ok i did the gasket on both, can on the 700 with reed spacers so roughfy in running aroun 120 122 on teh 700 and i shaved the head on the 500 and gutted teh air box. so i figure around 98 or so. does that sounds right?

Your 700 might be 116...maybe?????? 500 should be 90ish on a good day.

terret, wht do you have for clutching on the 700.
If you did these mods without any clutching you are most likely over-reving.
Been there done that.

my clutching is pretty much stock right now but im gonna clucth it this year as soon as i figure out if im buying pipes or not depends when i get my reembursment check from my school. i already know how im gonna set up the clutches if i dont get the pipes.

I have a SXR700 as well and was reving at 9000rpm with those mods.
A cheap temparary solution maybe to add weight to the tip. I added a 4.5 gram rivet and my RPM came down to around 8500. made a world of difference. You loose alot of power when over-reving.
