Yeah I think it is a good deal.
What is the belly pan?. Is it the "oil" pan ?. I know a two stroke hasn`t got an oil pan but you understand.
I actually hadn`t thought of the insurance issue, but I think that will sort out. I have had two loans before in the bank I`m using, the first one was for my car and the second was for a V-Max 600, so I have good "customer relationship" you can say.
But if I can save some cash on not loaning the whole amount then I will try not to. I`ll ask my parents if they can loan me some money. When I bought the V-Max I loaned 20.000,- and payed 25.000,- for the sled.
Remember that this sled "only" has 4000kilometer on the clocks and I hope I wount have to do any work with the primary or anything, the sled is suppost to be in TOP shape.
By the way, the V-Max I bought had a wrecked primary, but ofcourse I didn`t have the knowledge at that time to check it. It started frying rollers, I changed them two times and each time I only rode 10kilometers and then they were fried. On day I grabbed the outer sheave and tried pressing it in. It moved in uneven, so the conclusion was that the "main" bushing inside the primary was out worn. My friend who know has that sled bought a new Comet and now everything is much better!

Yes it is the pan on the very bottom, (bunnplate). Leave the clutch work for the pros and save some money over time. 4000 km... on a 99? start up the sled and check if the speedo works!. It's not very uncommon that they break where at the joint of the cable which reads the track shaft speed. Check the primary for cracks in the inner and outer sheave, this guy has played with heel clikcers himself it seems. I would service the clutch anyway, I would say it's the part of the sled that needs the most attention other than jetting/engine. Remember, the clutches are the heart of the POWER transfer, what good is 140 hp if you waste much of it in clutches that bind and do not shit properly out? When are you picking it up?

I`d really like to do everything by the book Norwegian, (getting the primary fixed etc.) but my budget doesnt alow it. My work situation is kind of unstabile, I only work now and then on Ica Nær (supermarket) and I take all the jobs I can find, the past week I`ve been helping out a guy that is building a cabin, etc.
I will take a thoroughly look on the primary and if it seems fine I wount touch it.
As you say, 4000km is little for a 99. I tried to call the guy earlier this evening but his phone was shut off, I was thinking of asking him about the milage and if it really was correct, why he is selling it and that kind of stuff. I sent him an SMS where I told him to remove the add from autodb, so I basically told him that I wanted it.
I also just asked my parents if they would "kausjonere" on the loan and I got their blessing. If everything goes OK then I hope I will be on my way to Tromsø next Friday.
Gees I am so excited, can`t wait to hear the tripple fire up!

What do they pay you a hour at the supermarket? Should be at least 104 kr, or 107 kr. You can take the primary afterwards, just make it your first priority when you get the cash.
I get 103,70 I think, however this is just a part time job, I work when they are in need of people for example when someone get`s sick and so on. But, I`ve told my boss that he shouldn`t hesitate with asking me if he needs help.
Tomorrow my RX-1 will be gone, the buyer is picking ut up. Sad but I guess that`s life.

103,70 sounds ok. Can't wait for friday, you got to post some pics then!

Did you pick up the sled yet?
I`m picking it up on Friday!
.
I have a friend who works in Avis Bilutleie (car renthal) and he said that we could rent a huge Hiace and put the sled in it, non of us are good when it comes to backing up with a trailer behind the car (going in reverse), hehe
. Would only cost me 250nkr + gas so I think I will go for it. As long as the sled fits in the car, but it`s the biggest version of Hiace so I think it will.
I also got my old V-Max up and running the other day, so my part-payment is OK
.
Will be going to the bank tomorrow or Tuesday and fix the loan. Only 5 days left now !

Sounds great. We have a 2005 Hiace, long version, I'd say that sled fould fit in that, but not sure if it will fit with skis, hard to tell.
Ok I guess I will have to take some measurements of the car, should be able to figure out if it fits or not.. . I remember when my boss and I picked up our new sleds last year, he bought an RS Venture TF and I bought the RX-1 ER. First of all, both of the sleds wouldnt fit in the trailer so we had to trailer them one by one. Second of all the windshields was so high that we had to take them off, seemed kind of wierd having to unsrew shit from the brand new sled, but it was needed.
How many HP`s does the 1999 SRX 700 have?.

Hi everybody ! .
I picked up the sled yesterday
. If you wonder if the sled fits in a Hiace, I can`t answer you that because the Hiace we was suppost to rent was rented to another guy (insurance rent, the guy crashed and had rent-car insurance).
However, we left my house at 13.00 and arrived in Tromsø at 19.00 (quite a few pitstops, including a flat tire on the trailer etc.). We got the sled in the trailer and headed home. Arrived at my house at 01.00. The sled was kind of dirty, the previous owner wasn`t the "wash polish" kind of guy I think, but the sled seems to be in pretty good condition, however there is a few things I`m going to fix: Brake lever (previous owner broke a few cm`s off the tip and just filed it to make it look OK) , one hood strap is broken and the light bulbs in the instruments has different watt sizes, I want everything to be the way they should be. I`m also going to buy a new belt and use the old one as reserve (no reserve at this time) and a set of spark plugs.
Enough talk, here are some pictures that I shot today after having washed her a little.

So much sled, so litte snow

You should AT least get it to a dealer and have them check the chain case fluid, clean carbs and adjust povervalves. WITHOUT doing that, you COULD get an expensive start and loss of rpm (povervalves not fully synched).
check out www.ronnies.com for microfishe parts. Microfishe is like "delefilm" that previously, only dealers had access to. Pick out the parts you want, go to the check out, there you will get the prices and part numbers. Multiply the american price, including shipping from ronnies, with 10 and thats the price you will pay in NOK at your dealer. (Approx).
Eg. a part costs 35 usd, shipping from ronnies is 8 usd= 43 usd x 10 =430 nok

Remove that hitch hook (trekkrok). Actually using it could lead to breakage of the frame, take a look at a 2000 or 2001 MM with a hitch hook, sits much lover. Also, your lincence plate is supposed to be "very visible", place it on windshield. Maybe you should just get a new one. Also check that the spark plugs are BR9ECS and NOT BR9ES. VERY important.
