After trying the trick with locktight. It STILL leaks !!!!
I even had a new impeller bolt washer installed!
Called the dealer today to have him deal with it. Won't be able to get it in for 10 days or so.
I now get to purchase another $18.00 seal and $65/hr labor......I'm beyond frustrated

wisviper,
did you replace the impeller?...and if so you need to make sure the ceramic seal is in it because it doesnt come with the impeller... i had to order it separately...

VIperino - My new impellar came with the ceramic seal that goes into the back of it.
These seals are the devil, mine is scheduled to be done next week. Can't wait for leak free this year!

I didn't replace the impeller. I checked for excessive play and it didn't seem bad. My Viper has about 3,000 miles and the service tech at my dealer said I shouldn't need to replace it with those kind of miles.
Looking back I would have replaced it during one of the 3 times I had it apart.
I just reached my limit trying to repair it (I also couldn't think of any new combinations of profanities I could yell that would relieve my anger

I have my motor out of my sled with the bottom of my crankcase off replacing the crank seals. Maybe it would be a good time to do my water pump seal as well.

viperino and all got her back today $165 and she is leak free! Woo hoo! They replaced the same seals I did with the exception of the rubber washer that holds the impellar on. So it must have been that seal or a bad installation by me. Either way I'm happy just to be ready with snow in the forecast, might have to wait a while to get those pipes on!

feels good to have her fixed hey? Don't worry that you didn't get it the first time, at least you know how to do it now and can help others
