ok, i have a 97 700sx with a 2000 600 lower end and a set of 700 ported cylinders, make unknown (unless someone knows who marks the cylinders with this mark: M1057, M1058, M1059, HELP ANYONE?) anyways i would like to know what rpm's it should run at, it has bender triples, reed spacers, carbon fiber "ht" reeds and jetting per bender specs with porting (152.5x3 with 55x3 pilot's, air screw 1.5 and needle's at clip 4) and 89l weights with 2.4 gram, ygy primary and green secondary at 70 degrees i think. 1.25 doo snocross track, stock gears and the motor is fresh. i weigh about 210.

when i nail it it slightly bogs then cranks up to 8200 then climbs up to around 85-8600, does it seem right? it seemed to run better with the 150 mains and 52.5 pilot's, clip at #3, more responsive and better pickup with no bog, or is this because of the warm temps here right now and the 152.5's will be better when it cools of a bit? run lots of ditches and lakes and fairly straight trails here in eastern mb so any setups you recommend?

any help would be great! thanks guys. :nos:

Jetting is good but might have a lean low end bog due to fuel screws not being turned out enuff. That porting should be OK.See what happens in colder weather. Those rpm,s are great for drag racing but not for trail riding. For better throttle response & slightly less accelleration change rivet to a .8 gram.

cylinder marking

the marks on them are mostl likely from milenium , they do renicasiling of the cylinders, you can call them and see if the numbers are good, its how they set up what thickness and final bore spec is to be per the company or person who sent them in, like bender, haick, or who ever.

thanks guys, i will leave it for now and check when it gets a bit colder up here, needles are at 4 with a washer under them, so what kind of rpm's should i be at then turk? and where should i put the air screws? i thought bender was 1.5, but i will take your word on it as you have a lot of know how with the triples.

i would go probably 2 and quarter turns or so with the pipes and porting. That should be close.

Minimum 2 turns out on fuel screws. For trail riding with good backshift run 84-8700 rpm. For drag racing run 83-8500 rpm.

well i got rid of the bog by turning the screws 2 1/4 out, runs great now but rpms are weird hits 84-8500 when its pinned then backs off to around 8000 and only hits 160kph? last year it was hitting 190+ and reving around 8700-8800 (before ported cylinders) what could be causing this turk? its on hardpacked road so no drag from powder. how do i get to the rpm's you recommend? helix, spring wrap, weights? it has 14.5 rollers and i have a spare set of 15's and 8ch weights.

Your clutching is on the edge for that day. A little less helix, tighter secondary wrap or a little less weight in the primary should help. You might want to try 10-20 degrees more secondary wrap but it will raise initial launch rpm,s also slightly.
