i have never even heard of anyone running pilots that big. 90's???? REALLY???? i know that is not what bender suggests.
dcs does not come on because of rpms, it comes on due to a lean spot in the carbueration.
i think you've read into the timing spike issue too much and want to make that your problem.
and here you answered your own question: quote: but before i installed the throttle cable last night the sled worked fine, no signs of Bog after letting off the gas.
thats the first place i would start looking period. it wasnt the jets, timing, dcs before the cable, but it is now after the cable. sounds like the cable is too tight, and the throttle over ride switch is activating prematurly.
listen to don, and disable the tors and go for a ride. eliminate that issue. if it runs awesome, re hook up the tors, and go for a ride, if the problem comes back, viola your cable is misadjusted. put some slack in the cable till the issue goes away. ski

dude, your going to burn down the sled like that, listen to the guys before me. Its just my opinion, but when i run fat, i go one or two sizes bigger, not fifteen or twenty....
your problem is most likely the tors, because your so fat, when the tors retards the timing you get all the unburnt fuel building up in the jugs....then by the time you let off and stop they finally get cleaned out and will run again...
bender recommends "Jetting should be determined by the quality of fuel available in your area. For those running blended, oxygenated, or unknown fuel, 167.5 mj and 55 pj are required. Using premium pump gas of known good
quality allows for 165 mj and 52.5 pilots."
im not ragging on you, but YOU asked for help, and YOU refuse to listen. why ask for help and suggestions if your not going to follow them? Its your sled, so do what you want. But even though it may run ok, your asking for problems if you dont fix it. besides, if you jet down to a couple sizes up, it will be safe, and run much better.
hope you get it fixed

so basiclly what your telling me, its my own fault for not listening? im trying hard to fix this problam.. so what your saying to me im going to burn my sled down because im jetted to rich? to big? wow, i didn' tknow that was a problam to skidoos these days. yeah i really dont think this is the PROBLAM tho if you read my other posts... LIKe i said in the other posts " It only Worked like this After i changed My throttle Cable" do you not understand that the jetting isn't a problam? it has somthign to do with the TORS, so What i was asking earlier, is where i can find these 2 wire plug ins.. i found 1 but i can't find the other.. thast why i posted pics. but hey, sure i may be running rich so what? its no big deal , i can re-jet sizes down.. everythign is closed for a few days because of x-mas. i dont know WAHT Size of jets to start with UNTIL i get my EGTS.. so i was like, ok i want PHAT jetting. so i got 90's and 170's. waiting for my probes to come in to give me a more accurate reading. until then im running fat. and i dont think im going to burn down cuz im running to rich.. i dont think i can remeber hearing stories of burning down because they are runnin rich... im sorry im like this but im really starting to get fustrated with this. Guys, THERES video of my sled on post # 23.

auji, i'm not with you nor against you, but details are hard to observe when reading them instead of dealing with them first hand. Honestly, what damage can it do to try what people like Mrviper and ski are proposing? The worst that can happen is that it will only get you one step closer to fixing your problem then fixing it right away (win win situation). I am not telling you what to do and I am not trying to embarass you by saying you don't listen... or anything like that. Rather try what they are offering and if it doesn't work the first time, they will know where to go from there. The whole game of fixing something is by process of elimination.... Now go eliminate! Hope you get this fixed soon.

one tip for the egts.... they are only a tool, a window to performance, not the be all end all.
what you first should do is make sure the egts work, then tape off the display so you cant read it. (yes you read it right.)
you need to get a baseline jetting spec so your plugs and piston wash are giving you what you are looking for, for performance.
then untape the display and go read what it says for low mid and full throttle runs. if it ever gets hotter than that.... shut it down.
i have seen sleds burn down with egts of 1000*, i have seen sleds run awesome with reading close to 1500*.
aluminum melts at 1350*. what i am trying to say is probe placement in the exhaust is critical if it is too close or too far from the optimal point the readings will be skewed.
remember they are just a tool, not the be all end all. just because you have egts doesnt mean the sled will run better or worse. and it isnt a license to jet too close to the edge. they are a guide, use them for just that, or it will get very expensive. ski

im trying, i tried i gave up.. ill go back at it whenever im not fustrated. all i asked where are those 2 wires for the Tors, all i can find is one wire, not 2... and everyone is F**kin shootin shit at me .. jez..
Ski.. i understand what you are saying.. but i dont want to run that "EDGE" with nothign to show me how Far lean im going till.. bang.. .. i dont know what the Specs are for Ported/Piped Viper jetting, so i just shoved these jets in just to ride for now.. this is not the problam as you know. i am not worried about jetting yet, no big deal. everyone is telling me its jetting auji, jetting... but IF THEY READ then they will know, its not the PHAT Jetting that is causing the horrible Bog.. it is the tors, and all i asked was for people to help me find the 2 tors Wires so i can get rid of it.. but everyone is getting on with, uhh Jetting auji.. wouldn't you find it fustrating?? im sure you do.. i will start jetting and clucthing it once my Probes come in from the mail, but until then i need to find those 2 wires too fix "tors" then do whatever ya kno?
And YES i am Listeng to Everything you and everyone else that are saying.. thanks for the help anywyas.

aj, look on your carbs where the idle adjustment screw is on top in the middle of the carb rack. there is a wire harness, follow it toward the brake rotor via the top water hose from the head. it will split into two wires with similar male female connectors. those are your tors wires. when routed one way the tors activates, when routed another it is disabled. i am not sure how it is wired now so i cant trouble shoot for you. it looks exactly like the wire in your second pic, there should be two of them though. ski

aj-the tors wires-- (i believe) start on the carbs right at the bottom of the idle speed screw. follow them back to the two connectors- mine are connected right under the thermostat housing, unplug them, plug the two into each other- not the ones coming from the carbs but the ones they're plugged into-- can anyone else reconfirm this? maybe that's one of the wires in the picture that's disconnected. might just have to reconnect it? hope this helps

AJ, have patience, Wednesday I'll drop down and have a look at it. Also, you have 60's in there, not 90's, pretty sure.

yah i looked at the wires, and there were a set unplugged... is this normal? if i plug these back togehather would this stop tors? or would i have to do it to the other set.. so Bypas tors, do i have to unplug while sled is On?

wheew you need to go down in the pilots im runnin 50's in mine. but they are different pipes. check ur tors. it has 2 wires that come down on the side of ur airbos and the right side of ur carbs. plug them into themselves so that the ones on the carbs connect to the carbs then the others from the wiring assembly into each other. you need to make a run at 3/4 throttle then kill the sled without letting go of the throttle( keep it in the same position till ur stopped. then check your plugs and piston wash. then u will be able to see if you are rich or lean.
other than that bring it over to goose and i will do it for you.

Alright... Evyerhting is fixxed.. Me and PV-7 plugged those wires in, took off my airbox, and the middle Carb wasn't fitting on the airbox corretctly.. im not sure if this was casuing the bog coming off the gas, Or just the wirse were unplugged.. the Airbox was coving up the middle.. i think there called "airJets"? correct me if im wrong.. the airbox boot was ont he top, but wasn't on the bottem correcty. Dam, dont ya find they are a PITA to get on right?? Skidooboy, and all the rest of yea, Thanks for your Concern! im sure there will be problams down the road that ill need ya aghain!!
Merry Christmass to you all! have a good one!

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Merry Christmas!
glad it was the tors, but you should still look into the jetting, if you want to run real fat, thats cool, but you should at least do as don suggested, and adjust your needles. like he said, at 3/4 your on the needle, and that is a dangerous spot for the burndown issue! just trying to help man, im not trying to make you mad. i just dont want to hear later, that you roasted a motor. merry christmas to ya also!
later,
