Loss of RPM’s SRX700 , 2000

I have a 2003 Viper and I'm experiencing the same rpm drop 8500 to 7500 bog after a 1/4 mile run. I had added a heavier rivet to the weights and thought that screwed it up, but I now know it's an engine problem...no power.Probably a bad CDI box as well or connection to it.

I thought I would bring this back from the dead, as the problem came back a day later. So I has nothing to do with the CDI box. For some reason the sled just decided to perform well on the test run. We finnaly found the problem. On the secondary the 3 pucks that ride the helix were mushed. The movable shim ring on the secondary shaft was also worn to the point that almost no material was left.

This was causing the secondary to back off at top end.
