I really don't want any b.s. on this subject. Just the truth. I've got a Rev. 800ho. I really like the sled for it's comfort. The speed and agility is great too. Hell, I even get 17-20mpg. Not too many issues. Yada, yada, yada. Bud has a Vector. Nice sled. I checked out a Vector GT last week at a dealer in Mi. Very nice looking, nice shocks, track, etc. No, I don't want an Apex. Don't bring it up. I really like the GT's looks. Can anyone compare the two for me? It might be a tough sale, but I might as well get any info possible. Thanks.

If you jump frequently you might want to consider the Nytro. Its basically the same as the Vector, but its set up as more of a rough trail sled.
I rode a Vector last year and I dont think it feels any heavier than the 600 XC I currently own.
Im kind of surprised you like the REV for it's comfort. They arent really known for being comfortable sleds to ride.

if u jump id go for the nytro. i has the fox floaters in the front and is basicly the same sled and the vector. my buddy just put them on his 99 mxz and loves them. plus i went into teh dealer ship nad tryed to step on the bumper of a nytro and it bearly moved. they are super adjustible and almost unbotomable if u have them set right. if i ahd teh money id get that or a apex its a tose up i like teh wat teh apex looks but teh trails here are rough so id ratehr have the 3 banger nytro. ive sat on a rev i like them but ist too high up for me the apex and nytro is a little lower u dont feel like ur gonna head over the bars as much. i feel it was more comfertable to sit on then a rev plus ur nees dont hit or ur feet get locked in know 3 people with broken legs from a rev crash and their feet getting locked in the sturps.

Why go through the trouble of selling-then buying another sled..You still have the best chassis for big bumps/jumping made to this date. You just have really crappy shocks-I mean BAD...even the so called "X"package revs are not as good as the shocks that come on the Nytro/vectorGT/apexGT...etc. I had a "x" package 800 rev-I got sick of bottoming the front end so much-I bought a 440-just for the frame/shocks.BUT-even though the shocks were soft-because of the way you stand-or I guess sit - going through the bumps you are still in way better control than anything else out there-meaning were you put your feet/handle bar position is Right in the center of the sled-LIKE A DIRT BIKE-so you don't feel how bad the bumps really are because your at the pivot point.....There is no other chassis out there that is the same-the fusion, apex , crossfires are getting close-real close-but they still have your feet/body approx6-8" back to far and you still feel the chatter/stutter bumps that you don't feel with the rev.The nytro isn't even close to the apex as far as being 'rider centered' its just a vector with a handle bar riser and a taller seat. What I'm trying to say is Buy a Good set of shocks that are adjustable/rebuildable for the rev-and you can jump it all day long-or whatever...Tank???? the rev a tank?? yea right. Go test ride the new yamaha's if you get a chance-See if the nytro fits you better/worse than the rev does--Its your $$$$$. But in MY opion(we all got em') The REV chassis is still the best . I just have other issues with ski-doo I don't like....I'd love to put my dad's 97 700sx motor in my rev440 chassis-that would be kinda cool.Still love that old triple...that sound.
Hope this helps/confuses you more than before
-Matt

id take a nytro over a rev anyday in my oppinion if you want a vector go ahead and use the money left over (if there is any) to get some lightweight stuff and maybe a new handle bar setup! i jump my 98 sx 6 and i love it got a good handlebar setup the shocks arent the best but hey lifes life... or you could wait for yamahs new sleds to come out in february?

Stick with the REV...........The Nitro jumps like AN APPLE BOX, THAT THING IS JUST TO BOXY & TIPPY. Any of the Apex's or even Attak is better, I've now Rode them all, the ATTAK is still my Favorite. Your REV other than being a 4 stroke.........IS A SWEET RIDE.

Wait till next month with YAMAHA releases their new 07 Line Up, Maybe they will have something 4 U then. ;)!

I have a vector with gyt front shock's and ohlin's in the rear and stretched it to a 136" it's an awesome sled but you alreaady have the rev which is an awesome sled also I would stick with the rev.By the way I did some clutching and my sled beats the sdi and has alot's of top end it's just the poor clutching from the factory to make everyone happy.

Yamaha's New sled line up will B on their web site Feb 16/2006

They have a SUPER COOL test sled they have been running, realy more of a Blair Morgan Style Racer with super long shocks. :WayCool:

We shall C what they got.............They R Very Secretive about their stuff :o|

The Apex isnt as much rider foreward as the REV. Ive ridden a few REVs as well as riding an RX-1 and a Vector and honestly, I dont see whats so great about the REV.
Its certainly not a bad sled (its actually quite good), but I didnt care for the squishy seat and I didnt like bashing my knees over all the bumps (that must be why Doo sells those kneepads for the REVs). I also found it to be very tippy. If all I did was race sno-x, Id probably ride a REV but for trail riding there are better sleds, IMO.
I havent had the chance to try out an Apex yet (I plan to try one out on Feb 11) but considering how blown away I was by the RX-1 and Vector last year and all the good reviews Ive read for the Apex, Im looking foreward to it.

This is part of my problem. Yall are saying "Blair sled". Well, he rides a Rev cause it is the best in the biz. for SnowX. I rode an Apex the other day and it is heavy. It isn't even close to my Rev in the trails. We were up in da UP around Christmas and traded for around 5 miles. I couldn't keep up with my bud after we switched. He was gone on my rev. It was real, real bumpy though (around 2 miles of moguls). I thought my arms were gonna break. Nice engine though. Very smooth. I could barely turn by the end of the 5 miles. I don't know. When I ride the rev and switch, it is like going from a four wheeler to a crotch rocket. I might wait another year to see. Who knows what Skidoo will do. Hey, everybody thought the rev was stupid, ugly, etc. Now Yami. went the way of rider forward 3 years later. I remember my buddies saying it isn't comfy on the rev. Well now they are riding rider forward. Hmmm

That nothing but B.S.

Morgan was untouchable on CAT 4 YEARS........Then DOO Paid Him THE BIG BUCKS, Simply he is the BEST..........DOO then Would Look Good and SELL SELL SELL DOO's.....Just Smart Business on DOO's part

.....If YAMAHA Had a sled 4 him, and they Went after him.....

....Quess What.........He would B WINNING On That 2.......PERIOD. Morgan is a "WINNER" no matter WHAT BRAND HE RIDES. So it's got nothing 2 DOO with DOO...... :D

...Sleds no MATTER HOW FAST OR GOOD THEY R...........NEED A RIDER 2 Make Them Shine In The WINNERS CIRCLE ;)!

Bounty Hunter,
I agree with you that Blair is the best snowX racer, but he left Cat to get on the rev chasis to put him in a postion to continue to dominate. If he would have stayed w/ Cat, than someone else on the Doo team would be winning the races.

Don't get me wrong, I rode arev Renegade on the trails for 30 miles and could not wait to get back on my ride. Going into this ride, I thought I would absolutely love the Renagade. If my idea of riding was to ride on a snowX track all day, than I would pick a Doo, but that is not my idea of riding a sled.

I know exactly what you are saying Bountyhunter - No different than Ricky Carmichael winning on Honda then on Suzuki - it's all about sales and who wants to spend how much to get them - I guess that is why I've never paid much attention to any kind of racing when choosing which product I purchase - what wins races don't mean squat!

Sledboy - not busting your bal*s but I would have to disagree with that - driver is 99% of winning - look at all racing, bike, dragster, boat, snowmobile, whatever, the best drivers win regardless of what they are driving/riding - too many racers have changed brands in alot of different areas of racing, and continued to win - just seen it happen too many times over the years to think any different!

MAYBE.........But Cat was still very fast, TUCKER & COMPANY was there every weekend finishing strong. I still think his chances on those Cats would have been very good. I still believe 4 him at his age knowing this is a Young Mans Sport & with nothing 2 prove 2 anyone. It was 2 things that made him leave Cat. He only had a few years left 4 racing as HE EVEN SAID it was tough on him.........not 2 mention he is busy with his dirt bike team MORGAN RACING.

#1...Everyone was sick of him Winning, and the TALK was ALLWAYS about how good Cat was..........NOT.......How Good B.M. Was. Even the Media had said several times if he was on another Brand Sled he Probably WOULDN'T WIN. So that's why he was lookin 4 a new ride 2 start with.

#2...MONEY MONEY MONEY..........Tough 2 say no 4 the RIGHT amount ;)!

BTW............B.Morgan nose dived his REV 3 TIMES LAST SEASON........broke his Ribs and took a real Beating, then Broke his Wrist.......Lucky that was ALL HE BROKE.......GOT LUCKY and was thrown clear on the other. I noticed last year he had a lot of UN BALANCED Jumps and Landings, Something he doesn't do a lot of as he is a very consistent rider. Also when he was up testing in Thompson Manitoba 2 years ago....they blew the motors on every Rev they had in the trailer....they had more motors brought in 4 him 2 run. I believe they went through someting like 18 motors that week, I don't think Cat ever had those types of issues with their motors........

.....Even the Best rider still has 2 finish a race 2 win..........BOTH MUST B FINE TUNNED ;)!

If I were to race sno-x I might ride a Rev???? Think'n bout racinn?? Never rode a snowmobile that is more comfortable-after you get used to one-than a rev.BUT-it takes about 100-200 miles to get used to one.If you ride one for 5 or 50 miles you will think they are tipsy, hard on the knees,cramped....etc. I'm 6'1"-@220lbs and I love it-my back, legs, arms thank me for it everytime I ride ;)! I still can't wait to see Feb.13th what yamaha has to offer??
Kinda funny how sleds of the same brand feel different. At one time -I had a 98'SRX700,dad had a 97'SX700,one friend had a00'SXR700,another had a99'SX600-and they ALL felt different!!! the way seats felt, handle bar pos.-etc..To each thier own......right??
