780 feedback

How is it on fuel, has it been problem free in all temperature conditions and have you had it on the gun yet? Thanks for your time.
 
Mine so far is still in the setup stage, but working very well. I have about 200 miles on it or so, and no issues. Fuel won't be much different, as I only run one size up from stock for mains, and that is at a temperature of -12 degrees celcius. Exhaust temps are good. That's with stock airbox and stock reeds. On our stalker gun, best so far is 128.4 mph in 2500'.

I,m still not getting the performance out of mine ,not because of the kit. I just don't have the clutching on this thing set up right just yet.A stock SRX can still catch me at the big end!!!

to expand what deekersrx700 said - you screwed doug swartz out of a deserved win in IS700 trail by running your 780 in the 700 class @ the NBSSR race in bonfield last sat. that sucks. i don't think you have a lot of friends in north bay right now.

Bob, your ignorant comments and attitude are certainly not earning you any friends anywhere. Atleast they appear to be consistant since they have not changed since the last time I saw you in North Bay. I'm looking forward to bumping into you tomorrow in North Bay. Anyone could have tech'd me and I would have gladly done it. How many people questioned your 700 improver? I was running my 700 last weekend, with some compression, and a number of 119mph in 2000' is certainly nothing to write home about. I believe Doug Swartz was running higher speeds last year with his ported 700. I'm going to put in the 780 tonight, and cancel my snowmobiling trip just to prove a point to you for your continuing ignorance. It is certainly not appreciated.
 
Mr. Valin.. on the N.B.S.S.R site you clearly said that you were running oversized carbs in the 700 Imp class...to put it more clearly... that alone is cheating. Sorry... start reading the rules.
 
Mr Alins... you don't have to put in the 780 tonight as we all know that it's already in the sled... you said so yourself you had 200 miles on the thing so why are you still lying?
Keep contradicting yourelf and you'll get cought !
OEM carbs are not mach z 38 MM we are not that stupid.
let me know if you need OEM one.
 
I don't believe this. You guys are all going on speculation instead of fact. Say what you will. I realize now by reading the rules for the trail improved class that oversized carbs are not allowed. I am going to talk to NBSSR tomorrow regarding this. I have no problems in returning the throphy to Doug Swartz for 700 improved if Claude says the Mach Z carbs are not permitted. Other racers I have spoken to think that these will still be allowed, but it will come down to NBSSR. As for the big bore, you guys can continue to go on speculation. I am not out here to make enemies, or cheat my way into the winnings. I had absolutely no reason to do so, as I had the top speed of the day for the trail class.

One question though for you all........if my carbs are not OEM yamaha SRX carbs, with a big bore, what class would I be allowed to enter in? 800 improved trail? But then my carbs are still not OEM, so does that bump me to the open class? If so, then Buffalo Bob all along has been entering improperly as he is running the same carbs in his SRX trail sled.

stop with the smoke & mirrors. the problem is not the size of the carbs ( that doesn't mean a lot ) but the size of the cylinders ( that does mean a lot ). all anyone has to do is click on your screen name & pull up your past posts. to date they talk about your 780 big bore srx. you have also recently pm'd me with questions about your 780. NBSSR has also posted on their site that you got caught.

I had it out yesterday for a bit. Turns out a stock XCR800 throttle cable works quite nicely. It's very sputtery on the low end, but it was snowing so bad here yesterday night that I couldn't ever get out of the midrange. The carbs need setup. It is way rich down low. I'll have to wait until next weekend to try to dial it in.

Bob, you need to stop assuming. I have talked to everyone in North Bay, and everything has been settled and understood. A post 6 days before? How long does it take to change a top end? The reason the 700 was back in the sled was for a trip that was planned for this current weekend, which I cancelled due to your continuing stupidity and to prove a point. I threw in the big bore last night, and took me until 2:00 AM to get it back together and running. PTO cylinder head is leaking coolant. One exhaust valve is pulling through. Carbs are way off. My ported 700 runs better than my big bore does. Everybody's SRX speeds are up 5 mph from Bonfield, except mine. If you didn't go out of your way to make a problem for me and cause issues for everyone else, I would have been running 121 or 122 today. It was quite cold today, and wrenching my way back up was not an option.

End of story. I am not going to reply to this rediculous issue anymore. If you are at the races, and want to tech me down or anyone else for that matter, that's fine. If you're not there, and are simply speculating about what someone is or could be running, I suggest you keep your opinions to yourself.

your story has more twists & turns than a F1 race course. if someone is accused of cheating the first thing they do is go back to the track, have the sled & motor teched & then run the gun.
what point are you proving by claiming to put a motor back in that doesn't belong in that class in the first place??
why didn't you bring back the mystery 700 that you claim was in the sled to begin with & prove me wrong??

I thought the the original topic was a question about a simons big bore!!!!! Can you guys take your dispute somewhere else so the original question could be answered !!!!!!!!!!!!
