No Shame In Being Beaten By An Other YAMI :WayCool:

Right now, my sled is around 525 pounds dry off of the 555 pounds that it was stock. The heads on my sled have not been cut and the compression in all three of my cylinders is 135. The motor is stock but I am running VF 2 reeds in it. I am waiting to throw our belt drive in there with our aluminum drive shaft but that may have to wait if this is going on. Come on down bounty, I think Steve will back me up that you are going to have your hands full and you are going to have to start praying for your sled to win. I will have to get a video of a radar run in order for you guys to believe me. The Gun on my sled on ice will say nothing lower then 120 guaranteed.

Bounty, if your sled is stock, what makes it any faster then the other RX1's and APEX's I have beat? Are the Canadian RX1's faster than the US RX1's?

You are challenging the wrong SRX if you intend to put a wager on this.

Steve, who should race him first. LOL

10-4 on that, YA better have a good clutch set-up, or it won't even be close!
Matt, I got'er figured out. Had some clutch slip before we raced so when I tightened up the secondary spring the RPM's got even lower, didn't figure on that. This caused the motor to stay off the pipe, and non oxygnated fuel really richened it up, which made matters worse. Ended up putting more primary spring in, along with more weight, and changed to a stiffer secondary spring.
Bingo, whole different sled.
Up here My Blue Possie........RULES

Hey Bounty them there sleds in the pics look RED ta me?

How the hell do I get my sled to perfrom like Matts? Whats the secret? I just need to beat a 02 mxz800 in short distances and top end

Traction and clutching. That is all there is to it. Keep your power valves extremely clean, make sure the power valve is adjusted so it is flush with the exhaust port. Run STOCK pipes! Clutching is where it is at tho. You MUST make sure your sled is hitting 8500 RPM and holding it. IF you creep to 8600 on top end, that is alright. Those light weight parts in my sled help out a little too.

I am always up to racing guys so if you are ever in there area, lets have some fun.

Steve, I am glad to hear that sled is running better. I will let you know the next time we are coming up. I want to race that sled when it is at it's prime. We are debating coming up this weekend but it is looking bad because there are a lot of sleds that have to be worked on in the shop. I will let you know. Maybe "800" will come up with us next time for a shot at the title. He has some extremely well running sleds that will really give mine a challenge.

I am having my brother upload the other video we made that day at a different host so I am able to edit it. Hopefully it will be up in about 30-40 minutes.

Bounty, in all honesty, which of the four sleds you have posted up is the fastest? Just curious. We have an 95 V-max 4 800 that we are going through and fixing back up and it used to run like a bat out of hell. When we had it tuned it's best with PSI pipes, we got it to go 129 on the gun on ice. My 2000 SRx is also very fast and will get into the 120's on ice but probably not 129 like our vmax-4 got. Lastly our 03 RX-1 is the slowest of the three sleds that I have listed. When we race the 03 against our SRX, the race isn't really close. However, when he uses the Nitrous, it is the fastest of the 3 sleds I listed. The RX-1 on the bottle will go by my SRX at top speed by at least 15-20 MPH. Which of the four you put up is the fastest?

I dont understand why my sled has to piss me off. When I rode the first tim e this year i was hitting 8500 all day and the sled felt like a screamer but i did notice this past weekend i would not top 8100ish and she felt a bit boggish on the top end. It was warm at 40* which doesn't help. I need to clean those power valves but more importantly adjust them. Last year I did not adjust after cleaning. How important is it to adjust every cleaning? Im guessing a lot. Lastly 2000srx, assuming my sled is hitting 8500 rpm would it still be worth it to buy a clutch kit? Thanks

Here are the videos guys. All you have to do is save it to your computer and it plays much cleaner. Let me know if you have any problems with the links or if you have any questions. Right click on the Mpeg video icon and go to "save target as". Then it will play smoothly. I will upload my edited video up in a couple minutes. Enjoy.

Srx2000 And Vipertripple-xxx, What Lake In Rhinelander Do You Guys Run On And Let Me Know When You Are Going To Be Out So I Can Come Play With My Srx And Vector. I Too Am Up To Racing Other Guys [or Girls If Need Be].

clutch kits aren't really the best way to do it, you should really do your own clutching, and know how to do it on the spot if you have to. Track conditions, jetting, differences in the gear your wearing can have an effect on where you need to be to get the absolute most out of your clutching.

as far as valves go, anytime you move the cables enough to stretch them or jostle there alignment, you should align the valves, so it's crucial to do it whenever you clean them.

another thing I haven't seen brought up is jetting, it's important to have your jetting bang on for the day.

Vipertripple-xxx, Were You Out On Little St.germain Lake Last Sat. Afternoon And Night? I Ran A Guy With A Viper That Looked Like Yours And He Did Not Win Then Left Real Fast

Steve and I were out racing right in front of Pine Harbor on Boom Lake, you should stop by some time. I will let you know the next time we go up.

As for jetting, that maybe another reason why my sled is faster then other SRX's. The motor is just PIG Rich So I am able to get away with the leaner jetting. Sled has about ~5700 miles on it running this way. Runs damn fast.
