Race *video*, SRX vs. Apex vs. Modded Viper!

Is jetting maybe what my problem was? Are the srxs pickier than other brands when it comes to mixture? Junior? How to rejet?, remove cap on carbs, (two phillips screws), and then remove needle? What is the correct spot on the clip thing for the tempature? For example with it being very warm that day what should I have done? Cause later that night it got cooler and the old girl really came back to life on her own. I think I think too much about it.

Bounty, in all honesty, which of the four sleds you have posted up is the fastest? Just curious.

1st;Nice videos, I like the Viper vers SRX Drag Race..........JUST TOO BAD THERE WASN'T MORE TOO WATCH as it's allways over too quick.....LOL

My V Max4 Had Hauck Howler Quad Pipes, Bigger Carbs, Bender Clutching, Belmont Secondary And a Long List of Other Goodies. Yes it was fast.

The SRX was Very Fast right out of the box, Bender Air Cold Air Mod & Polaris Clutch & Bender Roller Rooster Sec in which both were Cut and Dynamically Balanced & a Special Blend of Fuel...Aviation Fuel/ARF Nitro Gas [Nitromethane]. This Sled was 120 mph every time out.

The Warrior; was a little disappointing stock as I thought it would have been faster. Added a ECP Filter Kit & H.H. Clutching, Gear Change & A Lot of Suspenion tweeking. That seemed to WAKE UP that Motor as the Bottom through the Midrange really came alive. Brought it into the shop and put it onto the EGA Machine and dailed it right in, untouchable in 660ft......Perfect for Trail Riding........did lack some top end though.

The APEX/ATTAK...........Right out of the box it's a WINNER HAS IT ALL WITH ROOM FOR MORE. I have two clutches for it so I can test on one and quickly change over for just riding. There is ONE CLUTCH KIT for these sleds that makes some serious Bottom to Mid Power. I want to Port this motor, Head Work add Timing Sprockets, change Ignition & add a 150Hp Nos Kit and a few other things. I snow checked this sled but it came two months late so I've gotten a very late start on it, Still dailing it in everytime out.........but... IT KEEPS GETTING FASTER

Which is the fastest....Geez TOUGH ONE........

...WHICH ONE WILL BE........EASY......MODDED ATTAK, Ride , Handling, Mileage & Speed :WayCool:

Yes, I wouldn't exactly call my SRX "Stock". The clutching has our roller secondary on it, overdrive sheeve, and perfect RPM's by changing helix and springs. The helix is machined for overdrive and really woke up the topspeed. IF you still have the SRX, that is the sled I would love to challenge.

As you saw in the video though, the RTX was a 121" track and was stock other than studding. YOu saw the distance my SRX was ahead and it would keep getting worse for the RTX the longer the race.

MY dad's RX-1 along with nitrous has the ECP kit or our version of it and I can take his sled from start to finish. WITHOUT GAS!

YOu have got to come down here sometime. I would love to race.

zamahzial700 I see your sled is a 99 you want to run that about 8150 out of the hole and shiftout to 8300max they run lower rpm's than the 2000-2002 srx's

the SRX actually has a pretty broad fuel curve (for a 2-stroke) but it's still easy to lose 5hp in jetting. if it livened back up when it turned cold that's a sign.

the main is the one you want to be changing, not the needles (needles are for mid-throttle, mains are for WFO), to get those you'll need to pull the airbox (this is where K&N's are really nice), pull the carbs, of, flip 'em upside down, pop the 3 17mm nuts, and you can get the jets out with a flat screwdriver.

Alright sounds good. Knowledge is priceless. I now understand a lot better. Its nice to know how but I think IM all set with riding in 40* weather anyway. I didnt even have my bibs on! It just doesn't seem right when your worried about the sled being hot. I like it when it is 15-25* outside, perfect riding temp.

2000 - congrates..there's no disputing your SRX is fast - SRX's are fast..that's what they do...and I believe you are just well setup...we've got one of those in our group too - killer sled.

What ya need to find is a well set up Apex to run your SRX. I'm with SRXSPEC...an SRX has NOTHING on an Apex (given equal setups). My brother was at the radar runs in North Bay last weekend

SRX's - 104-108
Apex's - 107-109
His Apex (grass setup) - 117.4

This was in the crappiest 2000ft run we've seen...kinda hot and slushy but you get the idea.
