Wanted to attempt a ride this weekend but am not in the mood to drive 5 hours to find nothing on the ground. Is there anywhere in Maine to ride or do you have to spend your life savings and get a Canadian pass. 45.00 bucks a day is out of my budget right now. Thanks for any info you might be able to add.

I took from this site that there's still a bit of ridin in the most northern parts of maine to be had. I've put on 500 or so miles this year and thats just b.s.! I craving at least one more ride even if I have to cross over the border. Its expensive for passes and all the other stuff but Canadian trails kick asss. They were a lot of fun!blue missile said:

northern riding
The only places to ride right now in maine are here in the St. John Valley. This includes, Van Buren, Madawaska, Fort Kent, and St. Agatha (All an hour north of the Caribou/ Presque Isle area, which has little snow left). WE still have 1.5 to 2 feet left so come and enjoy while we still have it. The trails are looking great.

would love to squeeze one more ride in, but i think it's over for the season for me. maybe by some slim chance we'll get wacked with a good foot or two-- it's happened before in april- then i'd be all over it! haven't summerized the sled just yet. good luck though

northern maine
They are still grooming up here. make your reservations at long lake motor inn, martin's motel, or gateway motel while you can. Trails are great.
