chaincase oil

or just pull the cover off and get all the metal shavings out.

no, your better off using the plug. easier to do, less of a mess, and plus you shouldn't have metal shavings in there (sign of a problem) also the "dipstick" has the magnet on it to collect any metal shavings. just use the drain plug on the inside of the tunnel.

so if you shouldnt have metal shavings what's the magnet for? it is inevitable that the chain and gears wear. and yes it is cleaner to pull the plug.

If you do want to pull the cover to check things out here's an idea to limit the mess. Take a look at your belly pan. There is a "bowl" indentation just below the chaincase.
Drill a hole in the bottom of this bowl. Tilt your sled just a bit.
Now when you loosen the cover the oil drains into this bowl, out the hole right into a catch basin. No mess in the bottom of your belly pan.

TJ..........that's the best idea yet........... ;)!

And just for trivia, I have only owned my Yami for 7 years and never knew there was a drain plug on the inside until this season :o|

:rocks:

Thats right you hardly got any miles in.. :o|

Well, I didn't get to use it all winter really. So I decided to build it a new garage so I can make it nicer for next winter!!
