Going to summerize the sleds this weekend. Can anyone tell me how to best remove the airbox (or whatever it takes to gain better access to the carb throats) from a '99 Venture 700 triple? Seems like an all day task given the way cables and hoses are attached to the thing. Pictures would help greatly too. Thanks all!

take the philips screws out of the top, There are like 8 or so and slide the top of the box off and remove the shelf in the airbox. Should take about 5 minutes.

why are you taking it off, to fog it, or to leave off for the summer? if your just doing it to fog it you may be able to shoot the spray into the air box towards each carb, thats how i do it on my vmax, if your taking it off its easier to seperate it first as was mentioned above, then pull the bottom off if you want that out too.

Thanks all! Braindead, you are right - that is what I did last year. I remember it being a very tight fit to get my hands and the spray can between the two halves and not being able to see if I am getting a good spray into the carbs with the fogging oil. I did not think about dropping the bottom half off and out of the way.

take the top off and the center shelf and its gravy from there. no need to remove the bottom from the carbs.

yes if you are just fogging you don't need to remove the bottom half, just pull the shelf out and you have easy access to the throats.
