Took her out for run,not to much snow yet but it is coming down now.Did a run with my new setup.Might have a track ratcheting problem, will tighten track up.Out of the hole at 8600.Stay there during acceleration, really pulls hard then rpm's start to rise to 9000.Gonna add .85 inner and 2.7 outer on the weights in clutch. This should get me down where I want to be at launch and w.o.t. rpm's.Will experiment with secondary wrap to.Go from 80 down to 70 0r 60...not sure.As long as there is no slippage.

added weights to the empty 8DN-20's. (.85 to the inner holes and 2.7 g to the outer holes)She now launches at 8100 and climbs to 8500,maybe 8600.But does it ever accelerate when the engine is running at the right rpm,s.Wicked feeling man.I may need to get launch up a little.Tightened track, ratcheting noise gone. Adjusted belt to sit properly in secondary.

Haven't been riding for a while. There still is not enough snow to go far.Still waiting for the 15.6 mm rollers for the clutch.I installed the blue gage pod I picked up from Bischof.I decided to turn the tach sideways this time so I can watch my launch and top end rpm's a little better. And instead of the fuel gauge at the bottom,it is now at the right at the 3 o'clock position.I few guys on here say they did the same thing with the tach.Man the future long range weather does not look promising.A little cooler this week and warming up during xmas.No real mention of snow. What is the story here.Guess winters are changing.Glad I got this sled, you wouldn't see me spending mega bucks on a new sled and then deal with winters like this.Season for driving will be short.Oh well will be saving on fuel and oil anyways.Guess that is why so many guys are getting out of sledding and getting into quads.12 months of the year with them beasts.Might be looking for one myself.

my camera is not working to good, cheap digital camera.Need a better one for sure.Only problem I had when removing the old pod was at the headlight.Couldn't dis-connect it from there.I just broke the plastic around it and twisted the pod off. Then I saw what kind of a connecter was their.Snapped a little plastic off the part that is on the headlight.Put new pod in with original plastic and screw connecter. Now headlight rattles on the pod at that point.Pisses me off. Just put silicone around the area and letting it set up so it doesn't rattle at that location. Later I will go and aim the headlight properly against a wall and follow the adjustment instructions as per manual.Things just never come off the way you want them to,yet it seems simple.

Got my 15.6mm rollers installed in the clutch.Gave the whole clutch a bath in the Dishwasher.Put all back together and tomorrow will install it and do some testing.Damn thing is the lack of snow. The ditch along the highway in front of my house is a good 2 km's long, unobstructed and smooth, but just enough snow to cover the grass. Will do some launchs and WOT runs to see how the rpm's will register.Hopefully I have her all set up for drag racing.I know the traction will be the shitz. Will be tearing up the grass for sure.If I can launch at 8200 and climb to 8500 and stay there, then I am ready for some serious snow....when it comes....if it comes.Doesn't look promising in the long range forcast. This winter driving season may be a bust as many of you have the same problem, lack of the white stuff.Went to my Yamaha Dealer today and took a good look at the new Phasers.Looked at the awesome Apex to,a little pricey for me...about $14,000.00 Dealer told me he has been selling sleds ,,so that is positive. The Phaser is a serious mogol and ditch banger for sure.Could see myself on one.

any other plans for it, either this year (although you have done a LOT lol!) or maybe for next summer? I still think that a dual bulb setup and all the electronics to go withit would be SWEET!

Don't think I want to spend any more on it.It runs great now and like a new sled.I am seriously considering purchasing an SRX now and need funds for that first. The SXR needs it's big brother SRX you know.

deflector
Because of the heavy snowfall we received, engine was not winding up in the powder.Could hear that the exhaust was pugging up in the snow.Simple fix to that.Made a deflector out of composite decking material.Epoxed two pcs together 3.5 in. long and about 1 3/8" high and tapered to the front.Just used two bolts to attach in front of exhaust pipe under belly.Even painted it blue to match.Works great, solved the proble...now sled opens up all the way when pinned in the powder.

Well I picked up more rivets for the clutch today.Tommorrow will take clutch apart for the zillion'th time. Will replace the 3.1 g inner with 3.6g inner and hope that will get my launch rpm's on target this time. Can't wait to drive on our new snow again. It's been a week since I have ridden.By the way at my Yamaha Dealer today they sold another 2 Phasers with another one pending. An ex Skidoo man told me he sold his MXZ1000 and was thinking of getting the Phaser. There is an Apex there, but not bought yet.A little to much money I think for it.
:letitsno
I'll stick to my sled for now...she is reliable and all updatedBut I still could see myself on a 4 stroker...ie:the Phaser..maybe with 120 ponies.

well I am still playing with the old clutch here,it is never ending it seems.Decided to start from scratch again.Put my 14.5mm rollers back in.Still using the 8DN-20 weights, only this time no rivet in inner hole and 2.7g rivet in outer hole.Decided to use the new Ultimax3 belt I bought with this set-up.Will wrap the secondary at 70.Last time i had this set-up,only thing different was the .85g in inner hole. That time launched at 8100 and pulled like mad to 8500 WOT.So eliminating this rivet this time should raise engagement and launch rpm maybe to 8200.Will try running it tomorrow if it is not to cold.Right now with wind chill is -44 C. outside.

Well got the sled out today for a run. With this cold weather took 21 pulls to start it up and hard to keep running.BUT finally after 10 min. warm-up ...took her out.Man is my clutching right on now.Launch at 8200 and climbs rapidly to 8500 WOT.What a feeling...missed that.Put the heat on in my garage and brought the beast in to defrost.Have to get that extra 30 lbs of ice off the sled. Will check everything out and grease her up.Noticed another small spring broken on the exhaust. Will check track tension and all wheels and do an inspection of the front end just to be sure nothing is loose. One thing that bugs me is that my glass plate that covers over the tach keeps fogging up a bit and I don't know why.The speedo glass doesn't.Maybe seal around glass..I don't know.
