Deal or no deal..

Everything look hokey dorey? Thanks tomseal, i am so excited to get it ;)! Awful nice track on that thing too

I think you have a good deal there, ...some folks on this forum over sell the 00-02 SRX's.

Why was I thinking it was a 700? It looks prety good! Did the 600s have crank issues as well? And if I remember rite just so u know I dont think u can stud a ripsaw on a srx. Please some one correct me if I am wrong. Wish ya luck.

By the way the sled only has 3,300 miles..which i think is pretty low. If the track is in bad shape what do you guys say? Buy a new track for it soon or dump the deal and look for something new? Thanks for all the help so far
If thats sled has a new track, I think Id take that deal. That sled actually looks to be in pretty decent shape.

yes you can stud the ripsaw in that sled just need 8 tooth drivers and the tunnel and heat exchanger protectors if they are not already in there. Looks to be a decent deal. Powervalves and cables along with the crank update are the only things i would worry about.

Are you sure thats a ripsaw? from the side shot it does not look like one. the first thing i noticed was all cosmetics, chips on the hood, bumper and rust. I don't want to set you back because i now when i want to buy a sled or anything for that matter i get so excited and once i get my mind set on something i have to have it. One thing i have learned from experience is to look at a few other sleds that are the same. some guys have told you of a couple of other sleds for sale. Most guys that are on here take good care of their sleds, i almost bought a 2004 600 Venom on this site for $2700. My sled (99SRX) has 6000 really hard miles and cosmeticly looks alot better than this one. I would look at at least 2 other SRX's and then make your decision.

I'm going in to fill out some loan information tomorrow at the dealership, so i still have a few more days before anything is official. Also, the grass drags are here this weekend, ill take a look. Thanks for the suggestions guys. :)

I just traded my 1998 SRX 600s for 2300 dollars.....just to give you an idea what they are going for....

I traded it in VT....but I still have sled in hand till my new phazer comes in.

I would still sell this sled for 2300 dollars USD..

NEW TRACK 6 PITCH, HEELCLICKER CLUTCH SYSTEM, OHLIN SHOCKS, 2' RISERS, NEW REAR FRONT SHOCK AND BACK SHOCK....ALSO NEW ENGINE FROM YAMAHA WITH REINFORCED CRANK.

I agree 100% with Bender's advice, I would look around a bit. That sled is far from cream puff, handlebars look crooked compared to skis, hard to tell in pics. It's still early in the year, deals are around. Also there is no way I would advise buying it at a young age on borrowed money with an open ended repair bill from the dealer to go over it. Sounds like he's settin you up to me. Just MHO.

Mehhhhh you guys are making me rethink this deal. I have been looking around, the grass drags are starting tomorrow so i'm sure there will be some used stuff there. I also found a 2000 Polaris XCR800 with like 1900 miles for around $3,000 at another dealer. I got my eyes open.

Heh, my mom is flipping out because of the SRX 600! a 800XCR Triple would make her shit a brick no doubt... :(

EDIT: New pic of the track.

In my neck of the woods you can't get a 98 SRX for that price (with lower mileage)...she's a little rough around edges but not bad for a sled almost 9yrs old. The only thing I would suggest is that you insist on the dealer warranting the sled at his cost.

He won't do that, this guy is rock solid now. He said if they put it thru the shop its gonna go up to around $3,000...thats bullcrap if you ask me..but he said if i get it i can do most of the maintenance that they are gonna do it it myself.
