Considering the last 4's were built in 97 (production #'s on the 97's were so low you could argue 96 was the last real year for them) and that they have been proclaimed to be big, fat, heavy, slow pigs by so many know-it-alls in this sport. I find it ironic how many tropies have been won by these pigs and how many they are still wining. Even in an arena where one would think they couldn't.
Still a force to be reconed with.

ME TOO DAN. 3:16 (yammie tony)jabber800 said:Now on the v-max4 to SRX comparison. Both are great sleds! In factory stock condition I would choose the SRX performance wise. Style I love the look of the v-max 4 and the srx. Sound goes to the v max 4. Over all winner in my books? I couldn't choose one or the other. I love them both!

Someday, I'll get to try one out. I've only seen them at the drags. They sound crazy.

Up here in Northern Wisconsin, on the lakes in 1000 ft. or 1/4 mile drag races, the Vmax4 800s put the SRXs on the bench. We're talking well set up trailable sleds. Been doing this for many years. The SRXs are not as much lighter as some want you to believe. The SRXs are great, don't get me wrong. Anyone who gets to Wisconsin's Lake Namekagon this winter can look us up.
I agree, an SRX 800 would have been the real deal back then. I'll never understand Yamaha's reluctance to go big.

Tonight I just purchased a 94 vmax 750 with Bender fat pipes, Bender wide front end, Wilwood brake and Bender pro max skid. I can't wait to get it cleaned up and out on the trails!!!!!!!

This is prolly my favorite thread ever. Proud to have a v4. And glad the v4 is my favorite sled. I'm also excited to get my first srx and have it sit next to my 4 cylinder on the ol trailer.
