How does the crank and it's bearings get lube? I'm about to put every thing back together and the question just came to me. It's not like a car where we have a sump and pump. Sure we have an oil pump but thats for the injection. The chain case has it's own lube.

Just wondering....

the air/fuel/oil mix goes through the crankcase and lubes the crank bearings. some sleds have an oil line that feeds the injection oil directly to the bearings.

2 cycle oil

I used a dental syringe and injected 2-cycle oil on all the main bearings, rod bearings and piston needle bearings...just enough to have a small drip...don't forget to lube up the rings as you install them on the pistons...depending on your build, I lubed (about 1oz) the gear in the base case that drive the water/oil pumps...and of course you already know this pre-mix 6 gal of gas with 1 qt oil in jerry can and poor into a (already empty sled tank) add fresh oil to you oil tank and start her up...run the 6 gal through her and then it should be good to go- your oil tank should have drop a little indicating that the oiling system is bled out and everything is working well...Put in a new set of plugs and fill her up with fresh fuel...keep the smile on your face..hope this helped
