Hello! well, Now that my sled is back and starting fine, i did take ride to see if the performance were there and............. they werent there!!
Shit!! sorry, I,m frustrated.. The rpm goes to 8000 and stabilize to 7800 and i can't reach more than 145 150 km/H.. The engine is fine, the 2 cluch are fine and the stator seems fine! So ??? i dunno what to do
I'm really wondering if i should not try another CDI box. I want to know if that little box can be parts of the trouble?? OR this box only work or not and can't be a part of the problem
Maybe the Throttle overidde system???
What you think??

Definately sounds like some kind of powervalve issue that u are overlooking. It would help if you had another srx you could swap parts with till u found it. This troubleshooting is very frustrating!!!!

Turk, what about the Cdi? i want to know if it can be a possibility?? i will try to find one used if you think it can be the problem
I did check to powervalve this morning. the srx was idling at 900 and the valve fully opened.. even the dealer did check the sled last year and he didnt find something wrong

I had a 600 SRX in 99 that only pulled proper rpm,s when it was warmed up. If it sat for even 5 mintes it wouldn,t get over 8k rpm. New stator fixed it; but CDI could be a possibility.

well, i did check the stator like they said in the manual shop and it seem ok.. SO, i will try to find a cdi box, I'll begin with that!!
But what the cdi can do to prevent the sled to fully pull?? They control the sparkplug? how the sparkplug can affect the rpm??

this is one of those problems that is going to require time and patience to find.
It can be power valves, electical CDI, stator and it can be clutching....do you know anyone with a 2001 srx that you can swap parts.

well no!! the srx are really rare in my area. Its all Bombardier!!
I have find a used cdi box.. i will begin with that but i'm still wondering how the cdi box can prevent my sled to pull. How the cdi can affect the rpm?!?

Take off the black servo cover on your power valve servo and physically watch the servo and make sure that it is pulling the power valves. Lots of the time you cant know it is unless you pull the cover and watch them pull. If they are not pulling the cables, let me know and I will help you out. Thanks

You checked you actual cables and powervalves and made sure they arent pulling through right? Cables arent broken?

If I were you, I'd try to find a used stator before trying the a CDI route. A stator will likely be cheaper than a CDI box. Sometimes a stator will pass the static tests (ohm meter), but not pass the dynamic ones (with the machine running and heated up). Those coils can be intermittent and temperature dependent.
Just my 2 cents! Good luck.

what about a simple fix first?? like new plugs all around? I had a brand new plug(cough cough) that was a P.O.S. right out of the package.
I overlooked that when trying to find the problem (which sounds exact same as yer problem), cuz I said to myslef....NO, those are brand news plugs, gapped perfectly!!!......and I was beating my head against the wall......in the end, I got raped for another set of BR9ECS', but voila....the thing was instantly back to a 100MPH+ sled again
Sounds funny and too good to be true, but never know!

lol! but already done that.. I'f asking about the cdi, its cuz everything else have been verified
Well, i have find a used cdi for 75 bucks, I'll try that, and it it doesnt work, i'll try a new stator...

Sounds like your having problems with hand warmers also. Did you check for short in harness under engine. Just a thought before you put cdi on. Also you say your only getting 12volts at 5000 rpm. My 2000 shows 13.6 V at idle. Maybe stator is week.
