Canada Ontario little snow as well!
Hi Guys.
We have very little snow here in central ontario as well. Has been two years, since I have been able to log any miles in december. Even area's around lake superiour have no snow or ice yet either. Probabily going to be one of the worst years, I can remember. On top of this things didn't get going until early feb last year and only lasted until middle of march. Sad for an area that you use to be able to ride from early december until ealry april. Dealers have a ton of left over non currents as well. Some are even folding as we speak.

Well visited my Yamaha Dealer today and took a look at the new sleds.Looks great the Phaser and the Apex is beautiful, but pricey. They told me despite the lack of snow,he has been selling sleds. This is a positive thing to hear. He had a devoted SKI-DOO rider who came in one day and bought a Raptor.Said he has a REV 800 that has blown the motor 8 times already and he is fed up.Looks like another one of the competition has jumped ship.Apperently BRP are having a hard time to keep up with manufacturing replacement motors for the sleds that are losing their motors(Blown up).He sells SEA-DOO's and had deposites for 5 of them from potential customers, but BRP with the problems they are having, couldn't deliver the product and he had to refund their money. I think Yamaha is going to gain a lot of new customers. And if you go to Doo-Talk,lot of guys in their are actually talking about their next sleds to be 4-strokes because of less maintenance and down time.My dealer says that BRP has maxed out on there progress with the 2-strokes and are paying the price. They cannot go on much more on their 2-strokes without the breakdown factor coming in to play.I guess their engineering dept. is now struggling .Guys want 4-strokes and want turbos on them.Ski-doo and Artic-Cat will never catch up to Yamaha in that dept, even though they will try. They could lose market share and guess who picks it up.Dealer also told me Yamaha 2-strokes are basically indestructable. The cylinders and the pistons being of high quality combined with water cooling, the engines last a long time.I mentioned I wanted to change rings in my sled next year, and he told me that Yamaha engines are just being broken in at 3000 miles. You are going to get long life out of them.Said they tore one down at 6000 miles and really didn't detect any major wear problems to be significant.Bullet proof is the word.I have always trusted Yamaha and always will.As long as they keep putting out a good product, good things will come their way in return. That is my 2 cents.

The worst thing is Im starting to not even think about sledding anymore. Just bought my 2nd atv with my new sled money and havent been depressed ever since. My 03 viper er only has 2250 miles on it so Im not buying another sled and if something happens to it I will probably just rent since it saves so much time, money, hassle, and storage space. Sledding is my favorite thing in the world but Im quickly losing interest in owning/maintaining, storing and insuring that big red heavy useless toy. Hope we get snow, Im almost done.

Yamaha is probably the only company out of the four that really could care less about the sales of thier new sleds... They have the most money out of all of them by far where as the other three really depend on sales of thier sleds to stay afloat.
