Adjustable transfer rods or tranfer enhancement kit?

I'm in the middle of making my own transfer enhancement kit and ran into a problem of getting the upper guide wheels off. It looks like they are pressed on so I've been beating on them from the inside to push them off but they don't seem to be moving. Can anyone tell me the trick to get them off?

Why you need to remove those?

I would like to see the spacers where the upper control rods were and the spacer where the upper straps connect. Does the bolt go clear across the span or is it just long enough to anchor each end of the spacer. Also I'm searching for what to make the spacers out of.

Spacers are made from aluminum
I think the bolts used are the factory bolts.
It does not matter which bolts. They only go in about a 1/2 inch on either side. Just enough to hold them.
I dont think a pic would show you what you are looking for.
I will see if I can find someone to scan the instructions, then I could
email them to you.

Very bad picture but i made it like this.

Strap go over upper axle and below rail wheel axle

I'm still in the process of putting together all the pieces, but what I have come up with so far is a piece of 3/8 iron pipe that I've drilled out to accept the 10mm bolt. I would like to find something out of aluminum but haven't so far. I just got my upper idler wheels off yesterday, I had to take them to a shop and have them pressed off as they would not come by beating on them as others have suggested. I'm also still looking for a spacer to put in the place of the transfer rods on the upper axel. I plan on posting pictures of everything when I get it done, hopeufully this weekend.

i was thinking of working on mine tommorow, i was thinking of something similar, if ya figure anything out for the wheel spacers let me know i have adjustable transfer rods so i dont really want to cut them, but i may have to

i'm looking for something, a spacer or piece of pipe or tubing that will fit the 28mm shaft that the control rods are on, that is roughly 1.1 inches, I've got an 1 1/8 piece of tube but is a little loose so I'm looking for something closer, I'm going to stop by a bearing store later today and see what they have.

ok im about to start this project, now im starting to wonder, how many people have done this with out anti-ratchet drivers? were going west again in a couple weeks and i dont wait any problems out there. what do you guys think?

The longer you go, the greater the need. I run a 144 without extros and very little ratcheting (about 1 1/2" slack without tension). I have a bud with a 151 and wouldn't be able to ride his on stock drivers without a very tight track.

i got it all done, found spacers for the wheels at tractor supply store, i have to cut them down abit but they seemed to work good. should i remove the bar that goes across where the transfer rods used to bolt on? thank you for everyones help

Here's my finished product, the gray spacers are made from a 3/4" pvc coupling that I bored out with a Dremel tool, the upper strap mount is made from a 3/8" black iron pipe that I drilled out to fit the 10mm bolt. The straps I got from an industrial rubber and hose place. The fasteners are stainless. Not too bad once I got all the parts rounded up. I will need to do some adjusting to the suspension before it's complete but overall I'm pleased how it went.
