stripped screw in carb.....blah

Use a Dremel tool and cut a slot so that you can use a straight blade screw driver. Then replace with allen heads.

When such a thing happens I just use NEEDLE NOSE VISE-GRIPS....... Works everytime, but if it dont in your case like state above just cut a slot in the head.

When in doubt use a hammer blow screw driver. Aside form that notch it for a straight bit or use the side cutter idea. You might want to soak it in PB Blaster a bit before your next attempt.

i hate Phillips screws.....what a dumbass idea for making star screw head

Wow, you sound exactly like me!!

I say that even when I dont strip the head of one, they dont belong on a machine IMO. If they have to use screws, they should be robertson if anything, but I prefer haxagonal bolt heads and allen heads.

Was takking apart the carb on my Honda ATV, and I did that very same thing, strip a phillps head screw, so took my dremel with the reinforced cutting wheel and cut a slot in the head. There was no room for vice grips or even pliers. Also, the reienforced wheel is the only wheel to use, the other ones are extremely crappy and shatter all the time, theyre 100% useless.

I stripped two out of mines yesterday and I just drill em; out with a small bit and unscrew the rest with my finger worked great....Try that maybe
