If the key isn't broken there's no need to replace it. But if you got it why not. Yes you have to pull the speedo housing and the key will be sticking out at you when you remove the housing. Now is a good time to check the drive shaft bearing. These things can go pretty quick.

Change_up,took the housing off and the key is still good, but replaced it with new one anyways. Will keep other as a spare. It ONLY cost $5.00.How's your clutching going there. Will take mine apart again. With 3.6g in both holes she launches around 8100 and climbs to 8400 WOT.I will replace 3.6 outer with 3.1,that should do it.I should leave the 3.6 inner ...what you think.

Mines ok... still slipping a little in the belt but i'm at a standstill until i get a few new parts (maybe rollers but probably just a helix and a few more rivets)
You might be able to get away with cranking your secondary up a little bit to get that last bit of rpm out of it... if not you would be somewhere around the 8500 to 8600 range with the 3.1 tip. It's a close call depending which way you go could make it a little better or a little worse right now you're so close. On a slightly colder day that would bring those rpms right into the 8500 mark i think.
