BLue,
Make sure your re-routed wiring harness has enough clearence from the exhaust pipes. I didn't take any chances with mine, and covered them with a thermal wire loom (Thermo Tech). I have some if you need it. I'll give you a good deal and send it to you with my son.
Let me know if you need it and roughly how long a piece. and I'll give you a price.

Well got my COBRA BLUE Windshielsd on tonight.Waiting for my Tach which should be here Monday.Got my new jetting,w-w-w primary spring,Blue Flame Shock Covers,ALUM plugs for trailing arm and spindle.Got a set of rail ice scratchers also, got to figure where these can be placed.Anyone got a pic to show me where exactly these are installed on the rail?Only thing I don't have is my clutch align. tool.If it doesn't come tomorrow,I guess the SRX sits idle all weekend.Since I have the carbs, airbox and pipes off,I can access the engine mounting bolts and align the clutches. It is suppose to be super cold this weekend, may not go driving much or not at all,we'll see. Friday overnite temps around -35C right thru Sunday overnite temps of -39 C,this is not counting the windchill. Will go and start up the SXR600,been a couple of weeks sitting their.

Hey Blue!!
Where did you order the Tach from? Tony Pinter? TY?
It looks like it will be a LITLE cold for riding tomorrow!!! 47 below with the windchill. Yikes!!!
My kid tried to get his MXZ583 going last night and he flooded right off the bat (it has a primer and no choke, rotary intake valve). We pulled and pulled and finally gave up. I put it in the heated garage next door (grampa's), and let it warm up for 4 hours today. I still had to pull it over without the plugs in blow compressed air into the cylinders before it would fire and run. What a beast. Runs great now.
I had to tow it over to the garage with my SXR. SXR started 3rd pull. Hee Hee!!
Cheers,

I called Tony, but I guess he didn't find a Tach, never called me back.I bought Tach from TY member, should be here Monday.Yeah really cold now,SRX in the garage.Waiting for my clutch alignment tool to align the clutches before I put the carbs and air box back on.Oh well,I'll just put the new jets in the carbs, clean and re-set up my primary.Probably be working on my suspension to get it adjusted a little better.Once my SRX is up and running properly Len,and the weather smartins up a bit,we should do a Saturday run(got my trail pass)but will I get to use it is the question.

well got my carbs back in the sled and the air box is mounted also.Hooked up throttle and choke cable and adjusted for free play.Tomorrow will take apart chain case cover and have a look at the chain and sprockets.Since the oil will be drained, will put new oil in.
The new jetting should be better for the engine now.Got my Sled Pro clutch align. tool and it works great. My center to center was off about a heavy 1/8".Now my alignment is right on also, had to shift motor to get both measurements dead on.Quite a simple tool to use and easy.

I'm interested in what your alignment is like on the SXR600!!!!

probably won't have a chance to check the sxr 600 for alignment,to busy working on the SRX.The 600 has been sitting idle for 3 weeks already, probably will be hard to start up now.The 600 is on the backburner for now,it runs fine anyways.Need to get the SRX up and running and to put some miles on.Haven't really driven much at all this season.I just fix up the sleds and look at them every night before I go to sleep. That's all that makes me happy, don't have to drive them to be happy.LOL.

Since my clutches are aligned properly,my clutches run cool to the touch. After a hard run I check it and am surprised everything is on the cool side.Is this the way it is supposed to be,I guess it is good for the belt that it does not overheat, which in turn it will last longer.I am wrapped at 70 on the secondary.51/43 Helix with green spring.8DN-20's with 4.5g in both holes and a w-w-w primary spring. With sled up on stand, track jerks slowly at idle,so belt is at the right height.
