Anybody hear any rumors on the 2008 models?? Its getting very close to that time now. I think we can let the rumors fly.

I heard something about a 120HP phazer

Would like to see more HP in the Apex

Is there new models coming in 08??

I heard from a good source that the 120 in the phazer won't be for 2 more years. But that when it does come it will be a fuely, so look for 120's to get fi. Maxdlx

I will bet on a Genesis 120 motor with fuel injection in the Phazer chassis. RS Series sleds will change over to Apex styling. The company to watch this year is Ski Doo, they will have the most changes throughout their lineup IMO.

Ski doo has a new chasiss out, claim's 30 lb lighter than rev chassis. Other than that what would they have to offer.

I know, I have already seen the pictures. I posted them on here a while back, but I think one of the admin's deleted the thread because Ski-Doo was pretty upset that the picture got out. I think Ski-Doo's 600HO SDI motor will have another 5 HP this year. I think the Genesis 120 motor will as well. I'll believe the 30 lb. rumor when i see it.

I heard its a phazer with a enderle injected aluminum 600 cu inch big block chevy in the front with zoomie headers out the sides, long track 136" with 2 inch paddles and no snow flap, with a weight of 600lbs wet, should be interesting, oh ya the selling price is only $3599.99 gonna be a limited build of 500..........................LOL!!

Theres a rumor for ya......................

dosent yamaha get 180 ponies of the 1000 in the r1, and thats at the crank i assume.

I was thinking the same thing a while back and I guess I never asked anybody WHY they do not put the 180HP R-1 motor in the Apex

If yamaha did this, I think they would dominate the market completely.

Top performance 180HP 4 stroke

Trail performance 150HP 4 stroke

Entry level Choice between 80 or 120 HP 4 stroke

I don't think it will be fuel injected. Last I heard 600 Pro-Stock class doesn't allow fuel injection and I would think they would build it to race.

Doesnt that 120 motor go in the 500 class??

Has anybody raced the Apex in the 600 pro-stock class? I dont know thats why I'm asking but i guess it would be disqualified since it is fuel injected.

4 Strokes are limited to a maximum of 3 cylinders.....carbed. The allowed displacement is just under 1000 cc's to run in the 600 class.

Cause the R1 and MOST Street bikes make there HP and TQ in much higher RPMS than say the Apex motor. Reason alot of Tight n Twisty mountain-street riders roll with a V-twin street bike or even a Supermoto Style Bike, more of a broad powerband and with that you wont need to rev as high to make the power. Compared to a R1 or CBR top end motor. Which with the right rider and less HP, will walk all over a Inline4 street bike with more HP when riding tight turns of mountain road. But if your all E-way(City) or Track then a R series, CBR, GSXR, Busa should be your bike of choice.

R1 motor would be great for lake running but corner to corner trail riding, the Apex would beat it through the woods with 150hp.

Thank you ExpertXViper.

Thats great information. You cleared that up for me. I guess we can just hope on Yamaha making more power with what they have right now. I think 2008 will be the last year of the Apex so we will see. They might have something different on the Apex for 2008 and maybe a new sled or motor somewhere. I think only 2 more weeks till Yamaha announces the 2008 line up.
