Racing For Pinks

I would just race for $$$ & the loser shave there head or something, maybe he has to wear a Yamah shirt for a week, Keep it fun instead of nasty! The way it is set up now it is going to end up ugly! I remember last year someone posted a video of a SRX just killing a bunch of sleds on a lake Nothing was even touching it!
 
I would stud it if i was you to get a jump on him. with his 2" he wont hook up right away. I have a 2" paddle and it spins on the ice. Good luck buddy. I hope you kick his A**.

im with you make it fun, how about if he loses he has to get a Yamaha tatoo, and if you loose arctic cat. this still gives high stakes and you both keep your sleds but the loser will never forget it.

and if you end up loosing get the tatoo on the heel of your foot so it wheres off and your always stepin on arctic cat

i wouldn't run for pinks.i would just make the loser wear a coat from the opposite brand all winter long
 
Dude!!! instead of comin up wth ways for him to back out of an already made bet guys, why dont we help him win? i mean come on!!! we all love yamahas and yet it seems most of you dont believe in his! lets help him out and get another crappy cat off the trails! Take it to him man!

The SRXs are crazy fast on top end and the F7s are no slouches either , if you can hook up in the take off ,(which is where we all know where yamahas weak link is ) youll take him . I would have to agree with the other guys that going for pinks is crazy . If I was you and no offense but Im glad im not . If I won his sled I would give it back and tell him to keep his mouth shut ! We are all out to have fun with our sleds and yes I agree we all want to be the fastest but running down another guys ride to the point of embarrasment takes the fun out of it . Anyway goodluck and if it comes down to it I hope you do the honorable thing , .Just think He may be an Artic cat guy and a total A$$ but he is a sledder and and getting beat by a Yammi ,may just be enough to bring him over to our side . :letitsnow

Chissel pics will kill him if racing on ice!!!!!!!!! You don't have much time, and need too do something!! I have some secrets to let out of the bag. If you do not have a fuel restriction like in a sponsored event, fuel additives can boost your horsepower like no other mod instantly. you will need to rejet and probably throw some weight in the clutch. These additives are outlawed in racing for a reason, and can make world of difference, without harm to your motor if jetting is corrected properly. You will need to get ahold of some high octane fuel, i would say 100 octane minimum.

I use the nitro-x, but you probably won't be able to get it soon enough. Any type of fuel oxygenator will work. propylene oxide works excelent if you can find it. I think klotz makes one too.

(FYI Shaving moth balls oxygenates your fuel).

Bottom line, you need to get on the horn and find someone in your area that sells a oxygenation additive. Call around to automotive performance shops, or motorcycle dealers. guys with dirt bikes run this stuff alot. also get some big jets, three sizes bigger than stock will do, then fine tune the mixture by adding more oxygenator until the plugs are light brown, or check wash. Pull you weights, and give a couple of grams more on the tips, if possibly.

At least take some one with you on the lake and practise hole-shots against other sled. It's really matter if you stand, sit, front, rear.. Then you see what is best with your set-up.

Put some ice-picx just in case you have a little snow.

Test your clutch with short and long distance. It might be possible you need to loose secondery 10 or 20deg for long run.

Test Test Test.. You will get him easily!

Ps. Is 8700rpm best for your hauck pipes?
pps. Have you check your YPVS adjustment
 
yes get some oxgenated fuel that's worth a couple hp.I found you have to jet up about 1 main size for it.
 
With all his shit talking, have you guys have ever raced just for bragging rights? Its a far step to go to pinks out of the gate.

If you do it, good luck. Just seems like a silly risk to lose your sled IMO.

I agree, I don't think he should be afraid. The 144" the Cat is running is going to help of the line but seriously hinder the longer runs. Do whatever you can to win take the cat and part it out.
 
I think nos would be cheating unless the other guy has it too. If you beet him with nos there's not much to brag about. Just try and tune it as best you can and hope for the best. Good luck.

When racing for pinks, anything goes, that is how i figure if he has a problem with u running nos he will back out
 
On your first post you went over what was on your sled.... I didnt see anything about transfer rods???? They make a world of difference, if you dont have them get them... IMO anyways because they made a world of difference on my holeshots. Definately make sure that your powervalves are clean and adjusted properly. Go over everything every bearing that you can to make sure theres no drag anywhere. And maybe try running your track a little looser not to the point of ratcheting but as loose as you can get away with. I've seen my buddy's F7 get absolutely cleaned by an SRX and it has pipes and clutch work done to it, with studs so its definately a possibility i think that you will destroy him.
