today i finally managed to get all my powervales back together and working, so then i went out for a quick test drive and after a long stretch at wot i noticed that the warning light came on and was flashing really fast, at first i thought that it could be overheating but i had just freshly started the motor so i dont think it had enough time to over heat. So when i got on here i noticed that the light could possible be because of another electrical source, but im not really sure whats wrong. When i did the valves i hooked a battery up to the servo motor and adjusted them that way. anybody else experience this or have any advice for me??
thanks
thanks
Overheat light
Hello!
Look at
http://www.zenitram-inc.com/kgmz.htm
under manuals MM700 you will find a fault location table, in this you find the blink codes for the temp light.
Good luck!

Very sorry, I didn´t think. I thought the MM700 have the same electrical system because they both have 300W generator and double headlight. But the MM don´t have the powervalves so it have 7 trouble codes and the srx 9 codes. Maybe some of the codes are the same but I don´t now about this. Hope that somebody else here with a service manual can help you, or you have to talk to your yamaha dealer.

was it there before you adjust your power valve

i know on my 1998 srx my temp light was flashing when id go over 130kms per hour..this was just after i had mt valves cleaned and adjusted.. turns out it was a faulty servo motor

i just got them all clean and adjusted correctly i know that. the sled is running awesome right now but im not sure what the light is trying to tell me. I cant really count a patten in the light. One time it blinks really fast 6 times, then when i hold it wide open again it will blink really fast like 5 time or so it can be random... but its blinking at the same rate everytime. and the light only comes on after i hold it wide open for a little bit, but then when i let off the trottle within 5 seconds the light will go off. i cant imagine that the sled is overheating because the light comes on before the engine could have really overheated. Im kind of lost!

I've never had my srx overheat and i've ran bare ice wide open plenty of times. Unless you have a coolant problem you shouldnt be overheating it at all

its hard to find a pattern because it the light will blink really fast a number of time but then when i let off the trottle it will eventually go off, im not sure if it is blinking a set number of times

im sure that i am not overheating, i have never had it overheat before. what would cause it to blink the code for "Abnormal electrical source voltage"? would me hooking the battery up to the sled to set the valves have any effect on it?

ok..the only code i'm seeing for a 2001 srx like that is;
"Discontinuity or shorting of the seromotor is detected"
witch sounds right sence your having troubles on top when the
valves need to open..

^^^When your at or close to WOT and your valves need to open.
i think they open over 6500???
make sure they are not adjust to tight cause it will make that .....cause the servo cannot go to is full position ....

Any chance of swapping servos with someone?
At least you can eliminate a faulty servo motor.

the servo works when i put power to it from a battery so wouldnt that mean that it works when it gets the power from the sled. I put on my kill switch and then crank the motor over and you can see the servo move so that should indicate that its working.

I bet your cables are to tight and after they open the servo can't pull them any further causing the fault.
