96 XT Pro Action Rear Shock

OK my most rear shock is shot. The yamaha dealer only knows that the stock shock set up that comes with the works (coil, mounting parts, bushing) is $390. OUCH....

They are having troubles matching up an after market shock as the normal VMAX shock is not compatible nor is the 97 Pro Action compatible.

Any one know a replacement shock for a 96 XT Pro Action rear most shock?

I don't know for sure if any of the other pro-action shocks will work but I would think they would. Another option is e-bay. I found a complete working 96xt rear suspension for less than 150$ that I put in my 94. Good luck.
 
I sent mine into Maxx Performance last season (RIP) and one of them was totally shot, as in the piston had etched the inside of the shock so bad. They sold me a used one and rebuilt that one. I think it was only about $40 more. I could be wrong on the amount. There are some out there though. Maybe check with Pioneer or someone else who does the revalving/rebuilding.

Not totaly sure cole, i looked up the P/N's for your sled and a 98 P/a
and they were damn close to being the same,they might dunno i personaly
never done it..

if i was to guess i would say yes.
