New Doo in detail

I know everyon has seen the trail side photos, heres a look at the hamsters running this thing. Looks like they are going to be really light this year. Notice the rather long chaincase and how the secondary is almost vertically on top of the primary. You can tell how it is more narrow than the previous rev design in the one pic. Looks interesting to me, a pretty good contender from a engineering standpoint!!!

Interesting is the twin pipes into the exhaust can & how much the chaincase is rolled, Should be able to run some huge drivers with it which is good. But not sure why they have the CC vented the way they do?

Doo I like it? Not a chance ;)
 
Actually I think it's pretty mean looking. Like a stealth fighter with the square edges and flat sides, I wonder if it'll resist radar detection. LOL I'm hearing 40-60 lbs. lighter....whaaaat? that's insane! put it at just over 400 lbs. That's light!!!
 
What I want to know is every race sled you see has C&A skis, so if they are good enough to race, why not use them as standard equiptment. Maxdlx
 
Nobody will be picking that thing up on any radar.

Also not only if the chain case blows but how warm do they run on a warm day, would your foot sweat to death?
 
i think its a very well engineered sled and i'd like to try my hand at it for some miles. the reason for the tight space is because you want all the mass down in the c.g. thats why i think the motor is placed how it is and the chaincase is longer because the motor is where the front exchanger used to be. can't really tell, wish there was a good shot of the hood off.
 
Hood looks way to busy, but the underside looks as though some Canadians were busy on the CAD machine.

I might take a whack at it, but not if they put the same crap motors they had the past few years in it.

If that sled proved itself to be reliable and a better all around sled for MY type of riding then YES I would purchuse a DOO. I have no brand loyalty, I have engineering loyalty, thats why I own a HONDA dirt bike. They make some of the most reliable and powerful 2 strokes bikes on the market to this day. But with the 4 stroke tech. taking over they will be extinct here in the near future. Which sucks for present and future trail riders, cause if you have ever tried to kick over a 450 when shes HOT youll find yourself kicking alot and be winded afterward. Plus I'm not ready to give up that 2 stroke sound for anything. And that shows with me dropping a few G's on my Viper when I could have easily went out an bought a RX1 and got around the same HP and WAY BETTER MPG. But bet youll find me changing brands before heading to the darkside, just for the simple fact that Yami cut 2 strokes COMPLETEY, when DOO are producing high HP 2 stroke powerplants with decent MPG.

Dont think I mad or fired up, just explaining MO.

havent ordered a new, new sled since 99, this maybe my year to get a new one. the summit series look better than the race chassis by far. unless yamaha makes a snowcross replica style phazer, mountain with a higher hp motor and lighter. i may keep my name awhile longer, and be on a new doo next season. ski

Actually, Honda's 2-strokes put out the least power of any 2-stroke dirtbike. The 2 best smokers are Yamaha and KTM.
I still think the new REV looks an awfull lot like a Phazer. Would I buy one? Nope. I cant stand the arrogance of BRP. They refuse to admit that they ever have any problems with any of their products.
 
I like it alot, the only thing I don't care for is the seat. I think it looks too plain, other than that I like the hood shape and front bumper styling a lot better than the phazer.

Your right Paul, I'm not sure why no one hasn't picked up C&A and tied them to their brand. God knows Yamaha has deep enough pockets.
 
You gotta hand it to them for improving an already great product. It definitely will be the sled to talk about. It makes cats new chassis look very old tech. Now if they can only get their reliability close to where it should be. C&A pro skis only excell in heavy wet snow conditions. In hardpack and icy conditions they push so much more than even stock skis. They are kind of a one dimensional ski which no manufacturer would put on a stock sled to please everybody.
