Hi guys!
Today I did what I normally critisize other people for doing.
Before this season I spent quite much time getting me SRX the way I wanted it. I really loved the way it looked and how it sounded.
But at one point I felt that I had changed enough sparkplugs, when I compared the amount of fuel my friend put into his RS Vector and the amount I put in my SRX.. I somehow talked my self into putting the sled out for sale.
I rarely sell stuff, I kind of get a strong "bond" to the veichle, but.. I dunno what`s wrong with me.
I remember when we went through the ice with the mountain max. I rode home as fast as I could to get more ropes.. all alone in the middle of nowhere. My company was the masculine SRX hood I was looking down on, the nice instruments light and the sound of the bender can.
She idled while I found the ropes and I jumped on her and headed up to the mountains again so help my friends.
When you experience something "dramatic" you often get a trong relationship to the things involved in the situation.
In the add I wrote "considering to sell" , cause I wasn`t sure if I really wanted to.
Several guys called but I said I hadn`t made up my mind yet.
Last night a guy called, he lived only 1 hour $ 30 minutes away from me.
He came to look at it today, he brought a trailer.
Took my SRX for a ride and said he was willing to pay me what I wanted.
Well OK I said.
And now she`s all gone.. .
I hope all you guy`s wount be mad at me for doing this.. you must not misunderstand me. I totally love the SRX, but it maybe wasn`t the best sled for my type of use. And I love two strokes and I wount leave this forum just because I sold the sled.
Tomorrow I will be visiting my bank and ask for a loan, if I`m lucky and everything goes according to my plan, I maybe will get an RX-1 Warrior.
It might sound dumb to buy a such expensive sled when you are 21 years old, but it`s what I live for and you only live once.
Before the buyer showed up I took it for a little ride down the field and shot some last shots.
Just got an SMS from the new owner, he was very happy with it.
Wellwell.. .
Joakim.

You wont miss it once you go to a 4 stroke, I freaking love my new to me rx1
Daman: Thanks, kind of "relief" to know that you have been in this situation too. I remember when I sold my first dirtbike, a 1993 Kawasaki KX125 1993. That was a tough call for me.
Reimond: Thanks man, it warmes. Dream is to fit a 2" track on the warrior, bar riser, bar hooks, handguards and supercharge it. (hehe, yeah right, maybe in my next life hehe).
kinger: Thanks, feels a little better now.. . But still sad.. .

I miss my viper but the RX is sooo much nicer in every way. I would like to get a viper for banging ditches as the rx isn't the best for that but power isn't the word even off the bottle the sled is a rocket.
Dont read too much on the internet about how heavy and poor they handle, ride it first then make judgement.

Kinger: Yeah I`ve read about the "heavy and bulky RX-1" . But the thing is I actually owned one for 8 months or so, it was a 03 ER. It was a leftover so I bought it brand new when I was really depressed because I hated the town I had to live in to go to the school I wanted to go to (mechanical course), I made it through the year but I had to let go of the RX-1 because it was to expensive for me.
I loved it for all it`s worth. The sound and the power. The looks.
I actually (don`t hate me now) think the first type of rear ends (exhaust) on the RX-1 looks the nicest.. most masculine.
But, I do think it was kind of unstabile... I never tried to do anything with it tho.
Guess the Warrior is better stock, and with some adjustments I`m sure it will be perfect for me. For a starter I will fit a bar riser and hooks, maybe handguards and a mountain strap. Hope to get a track with more lugs in the future.. .
Daman: Nah man, ofcourse I wount. I will still think it`s cool to read in this part of TYM, basically it`s a part of my life.. I guess. If I can offer anyone any help I will for sure reply. Thanks for always reading my threads Daman, Tha man.
What does J/K mean btw?.

Wow, that was a nice SRX. You arent alone in sometimes regretting selling stuff. I sometimes regret selling my Phazer II, YFZ 450 and YZ 250F.
Look at it this way, the machine might be gone, but you will always have the memories of the good times you had aboard it. Thats something that no one can take away.
Once you get your RX Warrior you will feel better. They are amazing sleds.

There's not really a working log section on the 4=stroke side, so be sure to continue posting your projects here on the 2 stroke side. I think we all love to follow through your projects and you do a great job with your pics.
Have you put any thought into painting Rambo on the hood of the Warrior when you get it?

Hi guys!
Thanks so much for all the nice replies, really appreciate it.
92vwgti: Yes I kinda surprised by the fact that I managed to sell it, it`s hard for me to put things out for sale. But in the end there is basically no way around it.
I`ve been thinking of an RX-1 too but figured out it was to big for me, I weigh a little under 70kg so I thought it would be heavy for me to handle. Might be wrong tho.. .
Octane: Nice to know man.. I still remember how bad I felt when I sold my first dirtbike (KX125 1993), it was really tough. But I don`t regret it.. the KX250 rocks.
I think my relationship with snowmobiles is kind of different because I havent owned one for over a year.. almost.. . And I got my first one when I was 17 or so.. so I got a late start. But I plan to keep the warrior as long as possible.
Can`t wait to start shimming valves and replacing piston rings.. hopefully after manymany miles!!.
vipmtn03: All the nice words makes me speachless, thanks. I guess my brother in law`s MM will be a backup wrenching sled, if you know what I mean. Not that I think it will break down.. but I`ll always find something to improve.
I will miss the easy handling of the SRX, but after a few miles on the Warrior I bet I feel comfy. Thanks again for the reply.
ejcamaro: Thanks thanks I`m speachless. Will continue to post in the work section for sure.. . It`s wierd that it can be so joyful to share what you do, with other people.
Hmm I haven`t thought of painting Rambo on the hood.. good idea!.
But I bet it will cost freakin much to have a paintbrush artist work on the hood for a couple of hours.. . The warrior I`m getting is the "Edition" model, (dealer called it that), so it`s read/grey, think it`s a nice color combo. Thanks again ej for being so nice.
S.S Viper thanks, I actually feel somewhat better after reading these replies. The only thing I`m worried about is that the fourstroke will be maintainance free, but I bet I`ll find something to improve or fix.. . Thanks.
Ejcamaro: Cool sunglasses!
Well anyway.
This morning I called the dealer in Tromsø (4hours drive one way, from me), said I was very interested in the Warrior. "aha ok, just come and pick it up" he said. Seemed like he thought that I had accepted the price, which was set to 14545$ in the add.
I then said, "I want the sled, but to the right price". He then spoke a little with himself and after a little while he said "13863$" with plates on. (the registration fee is 421$ here in Norway).
OK I said.
Visited the bank before I went work, got the loan. (loaned 10600$), came out ahead when I sold the SRX, so I think my morgage (or what it`s called) is acceptable.
One thing I fear is that if I buy a sled that is too expensive, I will ride it more "wussy", well atleast I know many guys who feel it like that.. which is understandable.. but you`ll have less fun.. .
Actually I think the chance of damaging the sled is bigger if you ride wussy, you have to be confident and determined.
So, tomorrow night after work we will be heading for Tromsø, my boss and I. Will pick up the sled on Friday morning and then go home.
What a nice way to start a weekend.. .
Will shoot some pics of the journey!.
Gees been a while since the last time I heard an RX-1 run.. can`t wait.
Thanks so much for all the nice replies, really appreciate it.

You shouldnt have to worry about shimming valves and replacing rings on the Warrior. The first valve adjustment isnt due untill 25,000 miles. Id bet that the engine will outlast the chassis.kimoaj said:Octane: Nice to know man.. I still remember how bad I felt when I sold my first dirtbike (KX125 1993), it was really tough.
