The riding position on this sled is perfect for me.

Boomer,

Sled looks awesome!!!! What seat is that?? Is it a Boss??

Boomer,

Just noticed your write up in the working log section, custom Boss seat....

How did the renegage rear assembly mount to the extension? I am thinking of adding a Boss seat to my viper and was looking to add a tail light assembly to the back of my extension......

Lord have mercy that thing is a work of art! Excellent work. Heck, you should start mass producing these creations!

Thanks for all of the positive comments. I'm pretty happy with how this latest sled turned out. The ride and handling are great. I've always loved the power and sound of the triple/triple SRX's and with a little bit of creativity a guy can turn a slightly older sled into one that can keep up with most of the newer sleds.

The seat is a Boss custom. I designed the seat to have a more up to date riding position and give me extra storage and gas carrying capacity. Boss worked with me on a custom design that uses a combination of the best features of a Ski Doo Rev Renegade and Yamaha Apex seat. The seat cover is designed after a '07 Apex RTX. Had I known just how well this seat design would have turned out I probably would have made Boss make me a bunch of them. I've had a lot of guys ask me about the seat and rack and how to get one just like it.

The rear rack is from a Ski Doo Renegade and actually fits the Yamaha tunnel with the 136" extension surprisingly well. The width of the rack is a perfect fit for the Yamaha tunnel. I just needed to make some mounting brackets for the rear of the rack to extend a little behind the tunnel and do a little trimming of the front of the rack for the proper placement. I don't know how my set up would work with a sled that uses a stock style seat.

This sled will be my last 2-stroke Yamaha and I wanted to build one from what I think is one of their best ever 2-strokes. I'm still working on the 4-stroke sled (VX-1R) but it doesn't look like that one will see the snow this season. My plan for next year is to enjoy the season by riding these sleds and not spending most of the season in the shop building sleds. ;)!
