running a 22 tooth upper may be a good idea to.Lot of times the sled may not even loose any top end .May be easier on the clutches to .

If youe looking for top speed don't put a 22t sprocket it the sled will top out at 117mph on radar or gps and then start over reving.

Are the srx's not geared for about 110? Why not drop a tooth on the top for half mile runs?3:16 I don't doubt that your sled works well I'm just asking why you kept the stock gearing.

JOSH, CAUSE IT WORKS. 1/2 MILE IS REAAAAAAAAAAAL FARR. THINK ABOUT IT. WHY CHANGE ANYTHING WHEN YA CAN PULL AWAY. NOW I AM REALLY CONSIDERING STUDS NEXT YEAR. THAN I MIGHT MAKE GEAR CHANGE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

You are right it is REAL FAR, hence the gearing change, Why change anything when ya can pull away????? Why do all the other setup and leave alot of it on the table because your'e under geared?? Maybe I'm wrong on this but a box stock srx is geared for 110.76 and you are'nt going to overdrive that by much even in 10 miles unless you picked up rpm somewhere or cut your clutches.....
Even with over-rev or clutched for a few hundred more r's with the 8bu's you would be lucky to see 116 with that gearing. We did a Turk setup with a few small changes, dropped a tooth and saw over the 118 mark and as a measuring stick were pulling a stock in a good state of tune 2002 tcat (one of the few good year tcats) in 2000' and up pulls. That is normally where a tcat will take down an srx.

YOUR THEORY IS RIGHT. YOUR FIELD RESULTS ARE WRONG. IN THE REAL WORLD, EVERYBODY KNOWS A SNOWMOBILE CAN,T RUN WHAT ITS GEARED FOR. UNLESS YOU HAVE THE PERFECT CONDITIONS AND DISTANCE. SO YOUR COREECT, GET THERE FASTER!!! BUT. NO MATTER HOW FARR YOUR RUNNING, THE MAGIC NUMBER IS 8500 ON A SRX, THATS THE BOX YA NEED TOO BE IN, WETHER ITS 500 F.T. OR 1/2 MILE. AS LONG AS YOUR NOT 50 RPM OVER, AND YOUR STILL ACCELERATEING, YOUR NOT TOPED OUT. NOW I AIN,T TOP OUT BECAUSE THATS WHERE I HAVE WON MY RACES. THINK ABOUT IT, HOW MANY GUYS I BEAT RUNNING A SLED THAT HAS KNOW TRACITION PRODUCTS. ITS CALLED LONG LEGS. I ALSO DISAGREE THAT A SRX WWITH 23-38 GEARING IS ONLY GEARED FOR 110. JOSH, WHAT YA THINK A VMAX 4 800 IS GEARED FOR.
SRX -1.65
VMAX 4 800 -1.54

-Do the math here, that is where I get my figures, unless it is wrong but that is what I go by and I'm getting the same ratios you are.
-I also am able to regularly run my stock F7 out of gear in average conditions.
-A vmax4 stock is geared for about 117 mph with stock clutches, srx 110.76
