SRX 1108 Race Sled Buildup

Well, I freshened up the top end of the motor with new rings and fresh honing. I found an electrical issue, and a worn out secondary moveable sheave bushing. I also installed a lightweight Wave brake rotor.

I am racing this upcoming weekend, and will be playing with the setup.......hopefully break into the 150 club. I'll be impressed if I can do it with a 530 pound monster, dry. For next season, the sled will be going on a severe diet, and hopefully drop 75 lbs.
 
You are running a sx ignition correct? I have a price motor that I have sx ignition and cdi and I don't think I have enough spark to fire the cyclinders at wot. I tested my coils and stator and they are within spec. The stator tested 5 ohoms less then a year old stator and 13 less then 210ohms +or- 10% which is what spec is. What I am asking is if you could test yours and post the results as your motor is running fine. It is the white/red and white/green wires on the plug. Any help would be appreciated.
 
I am using Wiseco's right now. The part number is 775M08300, which are 1mm overbore pistons. They are out of a 718cc Seadoo.

The bore is 83.0mm, and the stroke is 70.0mm. I am running 6.5 thou clearance.

Danger Dog, yes, I am running a stock SX ignition, with a -4 degree timing keyway (at the moment). I will try to get some results for you this weekend.
 
Well, this was a very unproductive weekend. I spent all weekend trying to figure out issues with mine. It ate another reed on the PTO side. Then, I was having issues with the middle cylinder running extremely cold. I also had a plugged up fuel filter, so that was removed. Basically, I spent all day Saturday, and 3/4 of Sunday trying to get it to pull 9300 rpm. Finally, late in the day today I had it all figured out, and made two passes.

First pass: 146.7 mph, taking it easy, roughly 1800'.
Last pass: 148.4 mph, decent start, temps got a bit hot, and I backed out at the 1900-1950' mark.

Both passes were only pulling 9150 rpm.....should be 9300-9400. Now it's finally time to play with clutching / gearing :)

Danger: I was not able to get a reading for you this weekend. I will get you the measurement this week though.
 
They are a few years old now, yes. Still though, I hate nicasil for the downtime when damage is done. Steel usually results in a nice, quick fix.
 
I pulled the head off this morning to check things out. The motor looks great.

I am going to be installing a set of 10 tooth drivers for the weekend.
 
hummm 10 tooth drive=less track angle= less rolling resistance= more speed...will studs fit with a new drive. Thanks for letting us borrow the vice grips in NB by the way. An the tunning never stops! See you this weekend and good luck.
 
so ryan what did u run satruday the wind was bad the vipe got 93.9 and that thing is crazy loud i love it how do u like the jaws pipes im thinking of a set fro my viper ill prob see u sunday at rockeys again
 
No, I was having issues on Saturday, and didn't end up running. I ran only on Sunday, and pulled a 148.4 mph pass.

Jaws makes very good pipes. They are probably the best in the industry. If you are buying trail pipes, there are actually better pipes than jaws for your sled. CPR's are probably the best for a viper.
 
the reason im going jaws is i can get a smoking deal on them and i want a set of lake pipes i want they to be loud urs is a realy nice sound to it

Funny. Most find my sled obnoxiously loud.
 
It is pretty rude sounding Ryan!!! But I sure love it..... Pray for good conditions, the last three days we ran winds where either in our face or pushing us across the track. I'm sure theres a 150 in that sled for this weekend if conditions are good!!!! See you there.
