2002 is smaller than 2001

yeah it is too. now as i had indicated. back when the sled was under warranty my dealer had jetted it up. now, the size thats in there now i am not sure of, but you think i should at least go to 2001 specs hey? what about the pilot jets, should i change them too? i am going to pull of all my loose exaust springs and shorten them up a little to give them more pull to stop them from rattling. there is only a few (2-3 loose) so do you think i should do this. shouldnt hurt to shorten a spring ??? i am concerned that it may be engine problems (i hope not) but i am thinking not because there are times it pulls real strong!!!now i should also mention (not sure if it is relevant or not)but my primary clutch outer shifting sheave blew apart a couple weeks ago, i have it all fixed and back to new again but i have not found the pieces of aluminum. that is a mystery. there should be some good pieces of it around somewhere??? but that shouldnt have anything to do with it, right? if there are any pieces of debris lying around, the knock sensor shouldnt pick up on that, should it? is there any way to eliminate the DCS alltogether, or is this a good idea or not. i mean the 2001 didnt have it, and i know this is a failsafe option but i cant even race the sled. cause i dont know when the light is gonna flash and rape me of my top end...
thanks for your personal interset norwegian. i really appreciate it

The FIRST thing i would do is set it up to 2001 specs. EVERYTHING all settings and jetting and run good premium gas see what happens and go
from there.(check plug color)
and yes i would tighten them springs up however you need to(new whatever)
and yes the DCS is a good thing..keep it!!!!!

That's fine with me. I agree with yammiman.
Maybe the race fuel is making your sled more tolerant?

HEY HOW ABOUT WATER SKIPING, MAYBE THAT WILL SET DCS OFF !!! lol. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Will try that in a few weeks. Yes it sat it off, but I had a tempaflow installed at the time the video is taken so it's hard to say. The tempaflow would set off the dcs pretty much all the time on top end. Will let you know if they make the 1/8 mile track again this year.

i will try setting it to 2001 specs, but what if my jets that are in it right now are bigger than that, will i go smaller???

thanks everyone.
Do not go smaller. Try 150 on pto and 148,8 on the other two. Works for me.

Love the DCS, it's peice of mind. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to run stock jetting on premium gas WOT all day long. The Japs built them to do this. LOL Just take everyone suggestions and find the source of the light coming on. Personally i think using race fuel or jetting up is just a bandaid for the real problem. My 2 cents

THE PROBLEM IS THE GAS TODAY. IT BASISLY VERY POOR. HERE IN NY, ALL USE 10 % ETHINOL WHICH WILL WATER DOWN OCTANE AND ACTUALLY LEAN OUT YOUR ENGINE. LOOK I CAN SPEACK FOR ALL 2002 SRX,s OUT THERE. I HAD DCS ISSUES FOR TWO WEEKS. THATS RIGHT AND I BOUGHT MY 02 NEW. I USED ALL PREM, SUNOCO, MOBIL, ZWIK FILL, CITGO, etc. I UP OCTANE TOO 100. LITE ONLY BLINKS WHEN FIRST START UP SLED. REMEBER WHAT THAT DCS WAS FOR, IF ONE BUY POOR FUEL, THIS WILL PROTECT ENGINE FAILURE. IT SAYS THAT RIGHT IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Yeah here in Ontario some gas pumps say " may contain up to 10 % ethanol" . It's hit and miss. but for now most stations don't sell blended fuel, it's coming though, i guess i will deal with it when it does.

My 02 srx has stock carb settings and dcs light has only come on once in 3 years at around -15F. Last weekend, I was only able to fill her up with 87 octane and still no light.
Bottom line, from my experience, stock settings can work!
