so after a few times of going 500 miles (at BEST) before having a STUCK valve or two, I have switched to interceptor. did I make a good choice? I hear a lot of people say it is real good for the powervalves, whats peoples experience? thanks! I just hate the idea of paying MORE for klotz than I was for yamalube and having to clean the valves 4 times as often lol!! seems like great oil for nonpowervalved motors though, works great in the sxr though lol!!!

I switched last year from yamalaube to amsoil interceptor and I have yet to check the power valves. I hear great things about the oil.

sounds better than the luck I have been having! did you have good luck with the valves when using yamalube too? or was it just me lol!

03viperguy i think you'll love the interceptor i just switched this year from
using yamalube since the 80's, i got all my sleds on a diet of interceptor
power valves or not. so far i like the the stuff, the first thing i did when i
got my SRX is suck the yamalube out and put in fresh ams, as i did with
the other 3,even got it in my '94 PZ, the thing that's funny is i bought it
in the beginning of the season CHEAPER than some dealers yamalube..LOL

i only got to put a few hundred miles on the srx this year but the PV's
look brand new not one spot of carbon...

i bought 2 cases so i'm good to go for a few seasons...

I could not tell the difference between yami lube and amsoil. The valves were TERRIBLE at 1300 miles no matter which one I used on my 02 SRX. I went back to yami lube and just deal with cleaning them often.

Did you use Interceptor?

I have ran both amsoil and klotz, and had the same great results with both. The gas quality will affect the valves, and the oil cable adj will also affect it. Maxdlx

That is true too...

I have ran Amsoil for over 11,000 miles in various sleds with and without pv's and I think its great stuff.Even with lots of miles the inside of the engine is very clean with little to no visible wear.It burns clean, but I still think it leaves a somewhat offensive odor on my riding gear and the bellypan gets dirty pretty quick.I have considered trying blue marble for the above reasons stated and it seems to get glowing reports in general from the local sledders using it.I sure do like the smell of klotz though!

I have not cleaned them yet. I'm happy with the amsoil interceptor. I even changed the chain case oil to amsoil x 2000?

Im still not convinced on interceptor. I think my valves were alot cleaner when I used Ipone. Before I put the sled away this season Im going to check the valves. This check will indicated 500 kms from a true cleaning,. I know its not alot of miles but they should be damn clean. Ill post pics. Last season I used Ipone through out and they stayed really clean.Next season will be the true test. Im starting off with Ipone

Lubricant manufacturer, IPONE, created in 1985, makes and distributes high technology oils and maintenance products, dedicated exclusively to motorcycles and recreation vehicles (quad, jet ski, karts…). Recognised for the quality and performance of it’s products in all competition areas, IPONE has today become a leader in the French market for lubricants in the traditional network. It’s new challenge is to develop internationally, already 19 countries have been conquered.

For it’s range of lubricants, IPONE has ceaselessly created new products with the support of competition (research and development), in order to respond to the latest technology of constructors and to the strictest standards in use, in terms of performance as well as ecology. Specialist in motorised two wheels, IPONE, 100% motorcycle oil, takes solely into account the specificity of the motorcycle (integrated gearbox, oil bath clutch…).

All IPONE products are certified under the highest standards: API, JASO, NMMA, CCMC.

As for the family of sprays, IPONE has developed maintenance products for each part of the motorcycle and thus offers the most complete range on the market.

Finally, the packaging of the IPONE products is clever, modern, innovative, designed to enhance the brand and to facilitate it’s use. Always well in advance of the competition, for instance the container with the integrated measure, the 4 litre container in the form of the US jerrycan, the sprays of different capacity, the workshop drums that have become real items of decorative furniture thanks to their customisation…

IPONE, a business of human size with an ability for very rapid reaction, composed of a team of keen professionals is directed by a former rider and motorcycle dealer: Frédéric FOURGEAUD…his motto: “the ground”. Thanks to the ubiquity of the make in the events and with its dealer customers, always near and listening to the consumer, IPONE is today the brand that is on the rise…
This is my pic from the bottle a few seasons back

Yes,Sir. After running it for 2 yrs I really could not tell a difference except for all the smoke of Yamilube. I learned the hard way about the powervalves. I had to buy 4 of them because they stuck in the cylinder than the cable pulled out. I just decided to clean them at 1,000 miles like they say to do. I run yamalube in the wifes 700 so I might as well run it in mine again.Tired of buying/carrying 2 different oils around

Im tring to get some info on the 2 oils. For now I have found that Ipone conforms to the new JASO standards and Amsoil is not on the list. Also Ipone from what I can gather has a better *c pouring point.

Right....but ams feels that test has less importance the the other oils
manufactures do i think..

Ams has a PP of -58 that's good enough for me..

Here is a response i got back from Amsoil in the beginning fo the season
when i asked "why doesn't your oil have the JASO certification on it?"

"Thank you for contacting AMSOIL with your concerns.

In response to your inquiry, the AMSOIL Interceptor two-cycle oil has not been submitted to JASO for review. Performance of the product has been verified in meeting the JASO FC performance requirements as determined via test methodology JASO M340, M341, M342 and M343. It should be noted that the JASO FC standard does not review performance in technologies such as direct fuel injection or variable exhaust valving. That being the case, meeting FC performance alone, does not guaranty suitability in many of the advanced snowmobile applications. That is why AMSOIL has gone beyond the minimal requirement to assure performance and protection regardless as to what you ride.

Thank you again for the opportunity to respond to your concerns. As always, please feel free to contact us again if we can be of further assistance.

Sincerely.
