Ask the same question on an arctic cat forum, and the answer is somewhere in the middle. Probably throw out the extremes from both sides. I've had and been around a lot of ac's and have yet to see a bearing go out at 1000 miles,or even 3000.
F-7's are fun as hell to ride, but they're a lot of work to ride, and do have some issues. A Zr handles night and day from a F-series. Any one who tells you a late model zr's handling isn't comparable to a srx's hasn't rode one or is biased. You'll notice more ridrange power on a 900 vs. a F-7. ZR 900 also has a lot more suspension than the srx. Anyone whotells you my srx waxes every zr 900 is full of bs. Stock to stock with equal riders, be serious. Also, it doesn't take much to get more out of the big zr.
I don't see fit and finish an issue although the yami is probably the best, and it will definately get the best gas mileage.
I do not have personal experience with dd zr's , but do with F-7's, I wouldn't say it's that big of issue.
Personally,I would take a zr over an f-series, mainly for the handling.
I'll sum it up like this. If you're looking for something different, JUST BUY THE ZR! FOR THE PRICE YOU MENTIONED, IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT SELL IT! That's a steal.
And YES, I have owned an srx and LOVED IT, I think you find this to be an HONEST, NON BIASED review.
Good Luck

hmmm, that must of been a newer ZR900 w/ diamond drive last year on the big lake I ran up against. On top end he could not get by my Viper. It was close, but I could stay 1 sled length in front of him at WOT. From a dead stop, he did out accelerate me though. He just did not have any more top end than me.

again the 10.0" vs. the 10.4" secondary could of been the cause of that....

Maybe myself and all of my friends are just unlucky with cats then.
And maybe I have been lucky with polaris as well. Dunno, but I have seen enough. The rest of my friends still remain green, but for me the only green toy I will ever have is a kawasaki.
