i had an m-10 in my 98 srx 700 and it was the worst part i ever put in that sled it worked way better with the stock srx skid
What was worse about it? Ride? Transfer? Weight? Reliability? Can you share some more insight?

What was you front spring preload set at before installing it...I have everything else but not the front spring preload...I'm a heavy guy, so my back is set at the 275 lbs 16mm of preload...I was going to call team fast to see what they say, but if you have some type of reference for me to start from that would be great...when the M-10 was shipped to me all the spring were off and the arms as well just laying on top of the skid…any help would be great…thnks

ride was okay i wouldnt say all that much better if any than a stock pro action rear but the weight transfer was terrible nothing we did would make the sled hookup with that skid in it with the stock srx skid and bender transfer rods the sled would pull the skis and a do a radar run at the ice drags at 103 mph after i put the m-10 in the sled would spin the track like mad and wouldnt go faster than 92 mph in the ice drags as far as reliability i couldnt tell you about that as i didnt keep the skid in there long enough 2find out. i had 4 other buddys who all had the same problems with there m- 10s
fast was of no help with trying 2 sort that skid out either as everything they said 2 try didnt work either

I think its a great skidframe, not a race setup, but very good for trails and aggressive x-country riding. For more transfer put in the white coupler blocks or cut 1/4" off of the ones you have.Make sure you have about 4-6" of sag when seated on the sled and run the track as loose as possible, this help with everything.Front spring preload should about 1/4" of threads showing max, this seems to work the best.Me and others who run these have found it to be one of the best rides in the biz if you take the time to set it up properly, it take some fiddling around with it, but its worth it.

that skid wasn't designed to be fast, tiny wheels in the rear and upper idlers, very long travel, tight coupling. the skid was designed to ride great and does. if you didnt find it to ride good, i would guess it was not installed and or set up correctly. you are the first i have ever heard say it didn't ride much better than a pro action.

i have installed two now and both rode super, hooked up great. you need to cut the blocks, and set the skid up with the limiter all the way out.

your wife is going to love that sled now.

nothing says love like an M-10

I just rode my 2002 SRX with an M-10 for the first time. It rides excellent. The weight transfer is not very good until you cut the blocks. Once I did that I am very happy with it all around.

I picked up the skid used, Is there a way I can tell if the blocks have been cut? I rode the sled around some today and hit some snow banks and was impressed with the plushness. really cant wait to try it on a good ride. From what little time I put on it I think it's gonna be a sweet ride.
Thanks for all the responses I appreciate all the imputs and help on set-up.

betheviper my skid was setup by a friend who races snocross and his crewchief and even they couldnt get that thing 2 hook up lol so i doubt it was setup hell my 01 srx i have right now will hang the skis 6 - 8 inches until the sled hits 90 mph it stays hooked that hard one thing i will give the m-10 is that it a is a beatiful looking piece i loved the way it looked on my sled but i definately was not impressed with the ride. i have a long travel viper skid in my srx now with the olins piggy back rear shock and olins center shock in the skid and i would say it rides just as good as any m- 10 but thats just my opinion

so i hope the guy who just put the m-10 in his wifes sled didnt think i was slamming him because that was not my intent i was just giving my 02 on that particular product

Overpowered, no offense taken I knew from the start that you were just telling your experience.. everyone has there own opinion, sorry to hear yours wasnt a good one.

^^ me too.. I had an m-10 in my 600 sx, I could get the skiis 2 inches off the ground easy on launch which is pretty much where you want to be to get a good launch, anything higher is wasting power IMO as you're using the horsepower to lift the sled instead of moving forward. To do this I had to take 1/4" off the rear transfer blocks. Your snocross buddy was probably trying to adjust the suspension as he would a typical rising rate shock rear skid... the M-10 has a decelerating shock rate. Therefore in order for me to get it to ride good sometimes I had to make adjustments opposite of what made sense in a typical skid. The adjustment that made the biggest improvement was the crossover tube for the secondary spring in the rear shock to prevent bottoming. The M-10 rode 10X better than the pro-action NO word of a lie. I had the opportunity to make a head to head comparison between the two last year when I got my SRX with the pro-action in it... I couldn't stand the slightest studder bumps on trail with the pro-action after riding the M-10... M-10 ate up some of the roughest trails I have ever seen and it felt nicer than the pro-action on the small studder bumps. Needless to say unless I saw the groomer go by that afternoon the sx came out and the SRX stayed. I still miss that SX, after the pipes and the skid it was a whole different animal.

Good luck with the M-10 batti_srx, it'll treat you good.

That's awesome, your wife will now have 2 cushey rides...D'oh! I'm kidding, really

Not to hyjack the thread, but my Buddy just told me that he's going to GIVE, that's right I said it, GIVE me his Ohlins M-10. I just about fell over when he said that. He just bought an 07' Blizzard Rev 800, so he doesn't need it anymore. Apparently it has a bent rail, but regardless, it's like 2g new or something for this set up. The only downfall, if you can call it that, is it has purple wheels and purple rails. So you think it'll work for a guy that loves to jump and doesn't really care about top speed?
