srx just ain't competing with newer sleds

So to make my SRX transfer : Tighten up the front shock in the skid ? Loosen the limiter straps all the way ? What position or hole should the long middle shock be in ? Do i loosen the transfer rods ? Any help would be much appreciated !! My sled doesn't lift the skis 1" !!! Help !!

May I step in. You say you cleaned the power valves. Make sure the all the cables are still hooked onto the valves and are not broken.
My buddies SRX 600 had this happen. It just didn't seem to go. One day after going through everything, he noticed one of the PV cables was broke down inside the casing. Once repaired, the sled was totally different...much faster/quicker.

I can attest to the importance of the PV's. Last year, unknown to me since I was new to sleds, some fool had installed the PV cables around the top of the servo drum instead of around the bottom. So, had there NOT been a full inch of slack making the PV's completely inoperable, they would have operated backwards. I thought the sled was pretty fast(remember I was new to this) but I could not get any ski lift at all. So this year after a motor rebuild and with working powervalves, this thing is a completely new machine, it's amazing. It's so much more powerful and I can pull the skis up. I think the PV's are a big part of that.

You do know when you do all of this you'll push thru every turn you take right? You'll be alot slower off the line because all your HP is concentrated on a few inches of the track instead of a few feet. And it's hard on the "W" arm to boot. But it is fun for a little while I must admit...until you're getting smoked thru the twisties cuz you have to slow down so much to avoid being a permanent part of the landscape.

I was going to play on the lake with a few friends. We have a track prepped for 660' . I do not want to use this setup for trail riding. Just a few quick runs against the boys that's all. The way it is set-up now , it is just awsome in the trails . It feels like an Indy car on snow . Turns on a dime. I'm just looking to do a little drag racing . !! Thanks..

on a 600 ft track on hard pack im on the bumper with a clutched crossfire 1000, i pass a zr900 1/2 clutched, and a rev. after 800-900 ft im gone. and the sled still does 120 + on a gun. i have rivits in my clutch, a can, and a 40$ belt. stock with traction rods on grass i pass the 1000 in 600 ft. that was my 2nd run. my first run i spin too much. so i turned the rods the other way and im fighting to see over my hood passing alot of sleds. it goes to show its not what you have in it, its what it is that makes this sled go. my next year im going for the clutch and a hacksaw than maby paint. it takes time to perfect whats already close to perfect. my brother had me talked in to a cat but after extencive reserch i saved 5000 $ and bought my 01 700 for 2000

[ My concern is that everyone that has a stock srx seems to talk about their srx and how fast they are stock. Well the truth in my opinion is that they were a fast "stock sled" for their day, however it seems that people arent willing to accept that many new sleds can now perform just as well stock as the srx stock. Dont get me wrong I know this sled has alot of potential to be killer if you have the $$$$ but keep in mind I am not racing hardcore guys and they can still take me in the short haul with their barely modded sleds]
.
Could be time to get yourself one of those other barly modded sleds?
