The only problem with the walker evans where on the prox race skids. They are set up for 15 to 20 laps not hundreds of miles. You can get them revalved for around 100 bucks a set. No matter what skid you put in you should plan on revalving the shocks. o sense going to all the work of swapping and stopping short. Figure what it is saving you over a 1500 to 2800 dollar new aftermarket skid. there have been some m-10's on ebay lately that have gone pretty cheap too. After doing aot of research before I made the switch, my walker evans will be oing to hygear in the off eason for there spring upgrade on the center, and a revalve for both. They have done alot of them for yamaha swaps and seem to have a grip on what to do. Maxldlx

These are two pics that I found on ebay in the difference between the rev / zx
.
Look at the first arm mount.
The bottom is a 136" but I remeber seeing the same thing on the 121.

Many have had problems on the consumer 2004 Pro-X2's and Pro-XR 800's as well. As long as you get them rebuilt by someone that knows the shocks well it seems that they hold up good unless you're one of those people that are really hard on stuff. No personal experience with them, just sharing what others have said. No matter what the skid is great and I'm sure the Walker's do have better performance than the Ryde FX if they're working correctly.

So far I am tickled with the prox skid. I'll put the WE to the test as I don't plan to take it easy on them. By the way I voted for you on hcs shorstop, only familiar face I knew. That and the vid in your signature make me laugh everytime I see it. Maxdlx

Thanks. I think everybody likes the signature video. I need to put it on a free site instead of photobucket though. I easily go over the free amount of bandwidth each month and then they want me to pay for a subscription.

The first pic is a sc10111 out of a mxz not a rev from what i have seen the revs have a differant mount block at the front.I could be wrong but that is the same skid i put in my sled. Its alot lighter than the proact and installs in about a hour.

So if we were looking to put and sc10-3 in a proaction sled, we'd want one out of an mxz and not the rev?

Everyone should find a dumpster and throw their ProAction into it. The M7 skid i used was lighter than the 121 noaction, and easy to install with some help from Yamiman. Very good bang for the buck.

I don't know if the stock skid was heavier or not...but.....
yesterday we got about 10" of snow...with the new skid in... it was the first time the skies have EVER come off the ground like that. This is with the stock track with 5300 miles on it.

How do the doo/cat/polaris skid's handle transfer? They don't have the transfer rods (at least that I've seen). You guys are going to make us all be searching ebay!
Not sure about the Polaris skid, but the Doo and Cat skids have transfer blocks that stop the scissor arm from rotating back to far. The older cat skids dont have them, pre 02.

So if you were looking for a Cat skid, would you go 02-on? Didn't they go to a 14" track of something in 05/06?
My skid doesnt have transfer blocks, (2000) and I like it the way it is. I dont have an issue with too much transfer, but Im only 155# soak'n wet!! Bigger guys may want the blocks. I know if I throw someone on the back , It will carry the ski's as long as Im on the gas.
Cat did go to a 14" track for awhile, and I also think some were an odd length, like 128" or something. But I believe the spread on the slides stayed the same as a standard 15" track, so if you found a skid from a 14" X 121 track, it would probably work. But dont "Quote" me on that! lol

well the only quoting I'll be asking for is if/when I find a decent skid and I need some measurements for mounting holes. I figure I need to put some miles on the sled before I deem the pro-action as inadequate (but probably would be great for my ovation......)

You have to wonder why these skids are on the market.... Can't these guys keep them together or right side down....
