Sno-Xr said:Cat did go to a 14" track for awhile, and I also think some were an odd length, like 128" or something. But I believe the spread on the slides stayed the same as a standard 15" track, so if you found a skid from a 14" X 121 track, it would probably work. But dont "Quote" me on that! lol
Cat used 13.5"x128" tracks on the firecats. The rails are closer together and a 14" or 15" wide track won't work on them. Your only option is a 13.5" wide track on a Firecat skid. In which case you will have to reposition your drivers on the driveshaft as well.

Who the heck told you that? Polaris sued Ski-Doo and won because Ski-Doo copied their suspension design. Polaris got the rights to use Ski-Doo's RER as reimbursement.(it is called PERC on Polaris sleds)....and on a side note Ski-Doo didn't invent electronic reverse either, they bought it.

That's way too much work....sounds like it's much easier to get one from a 121x15....

I'm pretty sure there is an update kit for the cat skid if you want to couple it.
dnale said:So if you were looking for a Cat skid, would you go 02-on? Didn't they go to a 14" track of something in 05/06?

Okay Dave... I'll be over with my skid as soon as I find one in good condition...

Yeah, what he said!
Did Polaris change the Edge skid between different years? I know the shocks changed, but what about the actual design?

I don't believe there is a difference in the edge skids. The extra 10 skid looks similar...but not the same.
I sure hope Polaris doesn't look to close at the rtx skid. It looks darn near identical to my prox, at least at first glance. Rode in 3 to 4 foot powder in the ditches today, man what a fun sled to ride now. It carves so easy it tossed me off the first time as I tried to hard. My stepson fell off his laughing at me. Maxdlx

I noticed the same thing when looking at a Nytro RTX at the dealer.
