Hi - Swapped a track on a buddy's sled and during reassembly I noticed there is about a 1/4" of space at the end of the shaft between the spacer and the washer behind the bolt that holds it on (with the 37 tooth gear pushed back into the chain case) - does that seem right? Everything else seemed to go well.
Thanks,

This is on the drive axle in the chain case.

i just had mine apart and had to loosen the lock collar on the speedo side and tapped the shaft in with a rubber mallet. the shaft should bottom against the chaincase bearing.

If you're talking about your 99 it is a different setup. Is that the case? How are the trails by you? I was thinking about heading that way tomorrow.
Thanks for the reply!

That is correct, on that sled, if you have the correct parts in it the lower gear will float. On that chassis the drive axle is captured on the speedo side, on trailing arm sleds it is captured by the bottom gear.
