Repaired power valve

Well I know that loctite needs to cure for 24hr's and I did it last night and it's still here on my desk. I'll make a decision between now and installation tomorrow,lol...

To add another thing i don't recall the other members that repair them
stating they pinned there's,,dunno man do whatca want...lol

lol...I'll take the chance with the loctite. They're easy to remove and I'll pin if needed. I know I'll be checking them in about a few hundred K's anyway.

I think it's interesting about the 262 (RED) loctite didn't hold too. Heck they had that stuff all over my Expert X and I had to heat the bolts and shafts up to the point of red hot on the bolts and still use a 1/2" impact gun to get those bolts backed off lol. I guess the valves are subject to very high heat too and the motor will shake like crazy. I always thought if you were going to use red loctite you might aswell go ahead and weld the bolts in there. Even if the loctite did hold I guess the roll pin would be good insurance.

No way!!! damn i thought i typed slow..lol

Well I have three types of loctite, one for small fasteners, one for removable and one that says permanent...That's the one I used so theoretically it should hold, but then again I was married twice and at the start they were supposed to be permanent too,lol...

So when you install the bolt, does the power valve get longer. I mean did you have to cut off the valve to compensate for the bolt head??? I tried to read all the post, but I might have missed it...LOL

Yes you have to cut the valve off where it tapers down to 1/2" diameter. A 5/16" thread bolt head is the same thickness as the amount you will cut off, double check with a caliper though.
