Main 152.5
Pilot #50
Jet needle 8CFY7-55-2
Valve seat 1.5

Everything is factory set.
try
151.3 mj
and drop your needle to pos.1

or just drop your needle to start with..

Right now the needle is at 2. So I will drop it to 1 and change my main jet to 151.3. I will try and see what happens.

Sorry I ment to say the problem I am having with the fuel mileage with my sons sled witch he now has my old carbs on. The reason I switched is i was getting 5 mpgs and my son was getting 10. When I switched carbs he is now getting 5 and i am getting 10. Sorry for the confusion, this is bugging the heck out of me.

Yes, Sorry I had to run the boss (wife) needed the computer. Yes my mpg vs my sons. I had midrange problems and was getting 5 mpg. You said to switch carbs to find out if it is the carbs or something else. When I switched them I got 9 mpgs and my son got a little over 6mpg. So that tells me it is in the carbs. My question to you is what in the carb could cause him to use 1 gallon more than me in 34 miles? The only thing I could think off is the float needle and seat. Your thoughts?

Hard to say pup from this side of the puter, what could be different,
i ment whats the miles on your sled vs your boys??

I have 4000 and my son has 3600 miles. Both carbs are set the same except the carbs on my sons are set at 1.5 and the ones on my sled are at 2(needle) Do you think I should just start replacing parts inside the carb and start from there?

Well not really much to replace that would make a big difference, could
replace needle and seat incase it's leaking some.

try jetting down and see what happens then go from there..

That would be the main jet? I'll keep plugging away at it . You talked about my sled shifting to early. How can I fix that to shift around 8000k. Thanks again for all the help with my sled. I have learned alot from you for my 1st year.

not sure what you have for a set up but loose some tip weight a gram or
two shoud help,,work on your fuel problem first, yes main jet...

any resolution here? My sled is running terrible in mid-range. Runs great both at off-idle and WOT... Bogging down hard in midrange--right where you like to run at 40-50 Mph... Would love to know what you did to resolve it.

Check your jetting in that range(kill motor pull plugs)

Okay, I'll do that. But let's assume it's rich...Cause that's what it feels like--like it's flooding out as you try to cruise along at 35-40. Give it hard gas and it comes out of it. So, if it's rich in that range, what should I do to fix it?

I have been trying to solve my mid range problem myself. I took and changed my sons carbs with my carbs and still have the same mid range problem. I lowered my needle from 2 to 1.5 and I am going to try and lower it to 1 and change my main jet. Thanks to the help from daman I am getting there.

run your sled in mid when it acts up blip your choke if it comes out of it
your lean if it gets worse or nothing happens it's rich
