With the w-w-w primary seems to be upshifting and over shifting to fast
Engages at about 4000-4200.I only have 2 other springs here,a y-g-y and a y-w-w.I could go back to the stock SRX y-w-w and drop my engagement to about 3500..maybe getting less spinout and less overshifting. The y-g-y has still a little less force then that one,but a little more then the w-w-w spring. That could drop my engagement maybe to 3800ish I am guessing. It is now colder out and the snow is more solid,so traction should be a little better then on them 0 C days.I register -14 C on my gauge outside now, wind chill is a little higher like into -29-30 C.Sled should run stronger in this temo to.What do you guys think I should try?Have brand new green in secondary, but could also re-install a red spring.Have to watch the rpm's at wot.

There is also a gas shortage now in Winnipeg and in western Canada.Seems like one refinery broke down in Edmonton and there is a lack of regular gas getting to the stations.Stations are selling off their premium fuel at regular prices,so might not even get any gas to ride this weekend. They say this will be cleared up maybe after the weekend.GREAT TIMING I say.Next week already temps are going into +2 C and riding will be crappy again.

Don't know about the belt mark thing, but know if I am spinning like crazy on takeoff, the clutches are shifting to fast putting me into a higher gear ratio. Thus belt is being sucked down in the secondary and all of a sudden I am like stalling on rpm, back off throttle and pin again and it flies.
So want to lower my engagement and maybe get less track spinning on take off, thus getting the clutch to shift more properly and smoother.
Funny thing when I had my HC's installed, belt grabbed good and track spinned crazy like..yet didn't get the same effect as I am getting now when I launch..using 8Dn's.From idle to full pinning engine would rev up to about 7000-8000 and stall, rpm's wouldn't climb, off and on the throttle and it clears to 8500. Now if I hold throttle to about 3500-4000 rpm, just before it really engages,,then pin it..it will climb right to 8200,but seems a little sluggish around there and climbing up rpm.I miss that snap with the SRX.I mean it snaps, but feels a tad different!!!!Now when I was testing this again,it was warm out..so probably better to tune when it is a little more cooler and the snow is less mushy.

seem you still have problem with those 8dn lolllllll...try your green secondary for trail ride

hope my stuff to is in the mail lolllll... hey blue come in the area will make some test :-p

Can I help it my sled has to much power.I would go out and start up the sled and bring into the garage..but actually it is cold out.It is actually -32 with wind chill right now.I am lazy today.falling asleep at the computer to.Worked late on a job last night.May try to in the afternoon maybe.sluggish feeling and I don't care if I go out today or not.Probably will hit the couch for a snooze.LOL

Not to sound too basic, but the condition you discribed turned out to be a warn belt on my SRX. Didn't happen all the time and it was dependent on conditions. I didn't really notice the weak back shift until I put the new one on. It kind of snuck up on me.

New one was about .040" wider than the old one (both EOM). I noticed it by looking at the secondary and noticed it was deaper into the sheave than normal. A back to back measurement of the belt width new to old revealed the difference. Something easy enough to check.

hey blue did u sale your 50-40 helix ... i'm running a 52-42 and the way it goes i will finish to run the tip empty lolll

mod,it is a 50/38 helix.Probably will sell soon and the HC'c to.Put the SRX stock spring in primary today.Seems a little better.I also put in a new belt a while back, but I'll check it out.
So if I pin it from idle it will still hang, but if I rev to about 3200 and pin it..look out..she flies and no hangup at all.Ski's lift up and she hauls.I am thinking my 47.5 pilots are causing my problems. Will take carbs apart tonight to go back to 42.5 pilots and clean everything out at the same time.

forgot to say, have green spring wrapped at 70 also.I am over-reving to 8700 at wot.So either I wrap it to 60 or put but the red spring maybe at 70.What you think>|?

mmmmm well red for race and green for trail and great response if i remember turk told me you cannot be fast everywhere lollllll ... i think i type a message somewhere to you about those pilot jets ...................but the best way to find it its to race with someone .. i ask things here too but nothing better to try themself ... i ask cause sometime its save time :-)))

Will wait to see if this storm blows thru here first.Don't have any gas handy to go riding. Will have to take a trip to the pumps to pick some up.Another $150 plus gone again. And that will be for only riding locally and no long trips. If I can only get the SRX to cruise at 60 -70 mph..I would save some gas.But seem to always be at the 100+ speed lately.
Couldn't see myself doing long all day rides and spending $200+ a day on fuel only.My bud does that major time with his doo friends. He tells me that sledding takes up so much of his cash in fuel that he has nothing fancy in his house.Last year he was borrowing money off his kids for gas he told me.

why your sled is so hard on gaz ??? mind is ported and run 160 main and don't seem to take alots more gaz

Because I am always pinning it.Do a lot of launches from standstill over and over.that eats gas.I would say maybe I get 100 miles per tank.Never rode a normal day, always stop and go.I make my own trails.Don't have a trail pass anyways,so I find my own pathway and it is mostly on the river at full tilt.If I was on a trial system, guess my speeds would be down and that would be boring for me.I go for a couple of hours full bore and when tank gets to that 1/4 mark..I head on home and park it for the day.
I should start riding my 600 more.I love to ditchbang.Love to jump things and climb things. It is easier on fuel. I like to be airbourne 20-30 feet at a time, but not on the SRX.The 600 is way lighter and gas goes a little further.I would get 25-30 miles more on a tank of gas on the 600.
