Hi,
I have a '99 Yamaha 600sx. I put a Hauck 760 Big Bore kit in it a couple years back. I have acquired a set of hauck husher triple pipes on it as well. I started off, (while it was stock), with a hauck #2 clutch kit, then they sent me a new helix and a spring for the big bore kit. Now that I have pipes, I need a hauck #4 clutch kit. If I purchase the #4 kit, I will have 3 oboslete helixes. How can I tell what angle they are to see if I can resue them, they are progressive cut helixes to possibly have one of them cut instead of buying yet another package. I was also considering trying a setup on my own, does anyone have any ideas? I was also thinking since i went from a bone stock 600, and am now running a piped 760...do you think i can gear a little taller without sacrificing low end snort? Any comments or ideas is greatly appreciated. (I'd also like to dyno the thing to get a bead on my shift RPM if I were to clutch it myself.)
Also, I know somebody that does their own "overdrive" tweak to get more shift out, has anyone done that with a yammie, and if so, what does a guy need to do to achieve that? His cat kills me every time we race, I'd like to make it closer. Thank you in advance!
