i have 98 srx 700 triple and im not to happy with it....it has a hawk prim and sec on it and hawk pipes(where it goes in to three little tubes and exits in three pipes... it just dont have what everyone says a srx should have power wise....its fast but not quik... and i HATE the powder bog but any help on geting this thing dialed in would be nice....

if it bogs in the powder your exhaust is likely to be getting blocked by snow...ive had this happen on my SX's a few times

yamahaulinass, Has I am sure you know that SRX's ( unless motors modded) Make better power with stock pipes and with minor clutching really improves the low end and top end speed. If not happy with it go back to stock pipe set up and find Turks clutching set up and I am sure you will be happy with it! I had a 99 with turks clutching and it would run with most higher CC sleds and never bogged or missed a beat!

Trade it in for an F-7.. You will be happier LMAO

When's the last time you cleaned your power valves? If it's been awhile i might suspect a broken cable or a pull through. Start on the easy things like a compression test and go from there. What rpm's do your clucthes swicth at? on the 98's i think it should be around 8200 8300 rpm's then 8400rpm wide open
Honestly,
I would start by putting the exhaust back to completeky stock, putting stock clutches on it, cleaning the carbs, servicing the power valves, cleaning the power valves and inspecting for broken cables or power valves

Your powder bog could be
too steep a helix with not enuff secondary twist.
Hauck liked to use a very steep helix in his first srx kits. Worked well on hardpack but as soon as ya got in powder the secondary would shift out. What would happen is you would be stuck in high gear & there was not enuff backshift to gear down to 1st again. The bog seems like it is powder ingestion but it,s actually no backshift. synptoms seem very similar.

I like my piped SRX, It pulls like hell and sounds great too! But I hate to say it, I got better pipes than you, lol.

98700, I think Yamahaulinass is talking about a Hauk silencer not a complete set of pipes. It's a wonder you get any help on here!
It says "hawk pipes(where it goes in to three little tubes and exits in three pipes"
By this it tells me he has Hauck pipes, which go into three little tubes (AKA Hawk Silencer)
My last post was a joke, But a true one, lol. All my advise had been given already....

hey guys i bought this sled with all this on it so im not sure what it is all i no is it has stock pipes hauck prim and sec hauck silencers and thats it! the rest is stock and the bogging is a BOG like go to ONE cylinder and barley stays running unless u keep it matted and when this happends it dont move.....but if u hold it wide open for like a minute it starts fluttering and acts like the other cylinders start firing....
start a new thread & tell us your exact jetting & needle setting.
