not happy with my srx!!!!

Check the air jet when those plug up they run like its being choked out. And by the way thier should be no reason your not impressed with an SRX!

Yeah, I agree with Bendersrx The srx turns into a slug if you let the rpms go above 8400. I talked to a good friend of mine that worked for the yamaha racing team in the 90's he said to run the weights out of a 01 SRX with 01 stock rivets. It took mine from a slug to a race machine, also a holtzman made a hellofa difference on mine, but only needed if you changing altitude!

Like others have already said, go through the basic items first: clean the carbs thoroughly, take out the power valves, clean and adjust them, clean the primary and secondary clutch, check the C-C distance and offset. the carbs should be cleaned at the beginning of every season otherwise you are asking for lousy performance and possibly burn pistons.

i have cleaned the carbs every year and cleaned the power valves but i still get a poochy sled what can i do to my clutch(without buy anything) to see if it helps? i tired of putting money in this thing.... unless i know its goona work anything would be nice...... thanks

i dont think you get it yamahaulinass.....you give no information about the sled..(jets, clutching, reeds) and you want a clear answer on a fix. Now you want a free clutch fox without supplying any information. What is the jetting and clutching in the sled now..what are you WOT rpms, what does it engage at....help us to help you.

If youve been cleaning the carbs every year then whats the jetting? I dont know anyone who cleans carbs without cleaning/checking the jets. If your jetted to fat then thats where your losing power. As others have mentioned NO INFO..........NO HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, Now that's the attitude to have!

Tell us what you have for clutching, what jets and any other specs. Better yet PM me with some info, I'll even help you with some clutching!

dude, we all tried to help him out. this guy simply doesn't provide some "need to know" specs.....like jetting, clutch setup, etc. we can't help him if he doesn't provide this info or try to solve the problem. he's the one being a little 4 yr old by saying "i'm going to just sell the pos, cause i never liked it to begin with". well good, then sell it. then the rest of us won't have to hear him complain. let him go buy a arctic cat or something. he'll learn real quick, how much better of a sled (srx) he had prior.

It was simple a comment that most say when they're neck deep with crap to deal with and can't seem to get knowledgeable help when everything they've tried has failed. I will admit I've said that very same comment about my mustang(s). When they're all figured out and things work well you completely regret saying what was said.

It was a comment triggered by frustration, and tons of money being thrown into a sled, that doesn't run well.

if you look at this guys profile and all his threads it sounds like he still has some electrical rub through issues. he found a rub through in the harness and taped it up... i did same mistake not thinking to cut out the rub through. he needs to fix that first, then find out what is hanging up his choke or something. i dont have any mechanical background but finally said fahq it. the hardest thing for us w/o the know how is the diagnosing... especially when you cant replicate the conditions you ride in during the off season b/c mine starts and runs fine in the garage... but he does sound like a little girl... "it's stock" how does he know?
